AMD's drivers are mostly open source, so anyone can view/read the code. This might help with quality control as anyone can suggest fixes to issues they've encountered.
China is already building it's on in-house/country CPUs as not to rely on the west. I think they are at 25nm if I recall correctly. So like most things, it won't be long till they hit the sub 10 mark, by replicating already established fab processes.

I think China does have a few in-house GPU and maybe even South Korea, but nothing is done globallly. For instance, the TaoBao market place has a lot of interesting stuff that never reaches the west.
My 980ti has stopped working. It was plugged into my rig and small puff of grey smoke came out, auto shut it off. I suspect the caps are bad, since, there is no trace of burn marks/ powder or other to say what has gone wrong.

Agreed, so fingers crossed Intel makes good on the opportunities in play. Beat Nvidia with a big stick and we might see some proper market and performance shifts in the coming year(s).
Here is hoping teasm blue put out some decent drivers for both windows and linux....don't hold my breath. I get there will be initial teething issues, so fingers crossed over 6-12months they will solidify.
