*** Official Kodi (née XBMC) Thread ***

I assume you mean the pi3? Then yes, it'll run Kodi. I've found wifi to be unreliable for streaming though -- random dropouts -- so I use a couple of powerline adapters.

    Kodi ban in UK

Disney are going to be taking their content onto their own service and Apple have just announced their own content fund -- presumably available only through Apply TV. Add to that Netflix not renewing contracts in favour of in-house content and we have yet-more fragmentation. If there isn't an...

    Wordpress- Bugged theme help/ advice

Based on the info you've provided I'd agree with gord's diagnosis and suggest something was interfering with the button. Not sure why are this is presumably using the browser's own file picker functionality. See if there are any errors in the JS console in the browser to see if that gives a...

    4k monitors for the non-gamer?

Update: I can just about get away with 100% on the 32", though some sites are a struggle. Does give me masses of real estate to play with though. Ended up going with an Nvidia NVS 310 to drive the pair at 4K (only 30Hz).

Don't head shave myself, but I've seen examples of people using regular razors to shave their domes. If you have big hands I'd have thought a larger razor would be easier to handle (based on the techniques I've seen). The DE89 comes in a few variants, mostly with quite long handles, so may be...

    Electric shavers? Advice please.

Interesting, how long you had it? Mine have all slowly declined so that by the time they're 6 months old even a replacement blade won't help them be anything but mediocre (they're not bad right after a shave, but by then of the day I could use my stubble as sandpaper).

    HTPC on the cheap

My HTPC runs an AMD 5350, with 4GB RAM and it does the job perfectly fine. Even that is probably overkill tbh, but my machine runs Windows MC, has an HD Freeview card and a ton of HDDs hanging off it. For your use -- where it's purely a front-end -- one of the all-in-one machines would be fine...

    display port cables

As far as I'm aware, as long as the cable is rated for your version of DisplayPort (e.g. 1.2) it should do whatever you want, spending more or 'special' cables don't add anything

    Electric shavers? Advice please.

I've had a Braun series 3, 5 and 7. The 5 was first and really impressed me. The cleaning fluid ate the plastic so it was replaced with a 3, which was fine, then I got the 7 series, expecting it to be amazing. In my experience they all shave about the same, what you're paying for is a fancier...

In terms of off-the-shelf post shave balm, the Nivea stuff is good, the Dove stuff is a bit watery and not well packaged, but I think the L'Oreal stuff is grand (and can usually be picked up on sale for £3). Had my DE89 for three years without any problems.

    4k monitors for the non-gamer?

I've been running a 27" 4k monitor under Win 10 for about 6 months. It's running via an unlocked HD 5450 over HDMI (so only 30Hz), which does the job TBH. I do have it slightly magnified (125% I think) as the text was a struggle to read without (not impossible, but taxing). It sits beside a...

Passive (fanless) AM1 coolers now available

It does remind me of the old north/southbridge heatsinks you used to get. Basic does keep the cost down and presumably heat isn't a big issue with these chips. What it does do is get rid of a small fan. I tend to avoid anything <120mm. They seem to be the minimum size to get a quality, slow...

Passive (fanless) AM1 coolers now available

Stumbled across this during my travels, for those who think the (pretty quiet) stock fan is too loud. "The cooling performance of the Alpine M1-Passive can keep every AM1 CPU at bay by margin and cools efficiently even the most power hungry AM1 APU completely passive."...

Super low power nearl silent psu needed

What don't you trust about the PicoPSUs? I have two machines running on them (my HTPC running AM1 5150 and plenty of HDDs) and my main desktop.

Which AM1 Board do you use ?

Not Mini-ITX, but I have a GA-AM1M-S2H, which is Micro-ATX. The reason is so I could add a SATA expansion card and run six devices (Blu-ray drive plus HDDs) for my HTPC. All runs off a PicoPSU with a lot of SATA/Molex splitters.

Which cpu For Htpc Build AM1 or Intel Pentium k

The AM1 will be cheaper and use less power (probably not by a huge amount), so it comes down to what you want to do on it. I have an AM1 machine as my HTPC and it works very well, no slowness or noticeable lag in use. If you plan on doing any transcoding, or some light gaming, then the...

    Spec check for an upgrade

HDMI doesn't (apparently) drop to dual DVI, only single (max res 1080p). Some cards do seem to offer DVI-D plus Displayport, which could be an option, a passive version of this, for example: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-044-PN&groupid=701&catid=1914 Interesting...
