    The Radeon VII Owners Thread

Regarding the Fullcover Block from Alphacool. This thing is trash, do not buy it. It costs much the same as EK's block but has dire quality control. I am getting temps that are barely any better than the stock cooler. Can't overclock more as the junction temp hits 110 easily. To make things...

I posted this already in the other thread but this is the owners thread so I'll leave this here:

    Radeon VII

£650-£750 sounds good to me. I will be waiting at 13:40. To avoid F5 finger fatigue, I will be using something like this: Super Auto Refresh Plus

    Radeon VII

Same here, unless it's more than double the price of Vega 64. That doesn't make any sense for only 25-30% more perf. I would rather buy two vega 64, but crossfire is so useless these days...

    Radeon VII

So not going to be less than about £799 on the store? I hope I'm eligible for that voucher then. Otherwise might just stick with the 290 I bought from overclockers back in 2013.

    Radeon VII

Only 2% of the global stock for us. I guess well over 50% must be going to the USA then? How much did other european countries get? With only 44 at OCuk they will surely be fully sold out almost straight away. Whenever I buy from Ocuk I have to battle with my banks secure pay thingy (I hardly...

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

Timing problem interesting but I have sent my AOC back now and hope to be refunded soon. Like you I will wait till next gen if that is an unimpressive cramming of more cores and no new tech then I will wait till 20nm and get a 24" 4K.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1492088/asus-pb287q-4k-60hz-28/220#post_22447136 780ti issues two people on that page alone. not same monitor exactly but panel and internals are the same and share the same problems.

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

yes I was a noob for falling for it, too good to be true and it was. Problems aren't limited to AMD cards Nvidia users are getting standby resume problems too.

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

However good it is supposed to be next to nobody uses those features and royalty free means nothing if your including all the other connectors on your monitor and if your doing that directly driving is impossible. I will be avoiding DP like the plague in future even if the problems aren't caused...

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

I had a X-Star Dp2710 1440p wish a hadn't sold it. If I buy another monitor it will be IPS or better although the panel on that X-Star had better viewing angles than the AOC 4K. I don't like the size of them much though a 24" 1440p monitor would be the best a good size and pixel density and I...

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

I have heard about problems with the samsung so I will be avoiding 4K for a few years at least. I also didn't like the size of the monitor and the TN panel was surprisingly poor considering it's reviews. May buy a decent 1080 IPS instead but I will avoid overclockers due to the crazy RMA system!

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

This has nothing to do with miniDP I didn't get one nor have any mini DP cable. I am sending this monitor back to overclockers for sure now as it may be faulty itself but what I do know is that 60hz 4k is impossible. It's not a great monitor in other respects anyway.

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

I got my new cable in the post today and it makes no difference worse in fact. I guess my R9 290 has it really bad.

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

It is pretty much confirmed hardware issue with the signal output being to weak. Shorter/better shielded cables fix the problem. http://www.overclock.net/t/1492088/asus-pb287q-4k-60hz-28/210#post_22444432 When I get my cable I will confirm this. Bad news in that it means this is definitely a...

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

It worked for me but only if they were both 30hz and the image was squashed and very hard to read but it could just be more of those low quality untested drivers from AMD!

    AOC U2868PQU 4K unusable flickering

Not got the new cable it was dispatched today. Also I tried to trick the monitor into giving me 60hz 4k by combining two inputs at 1920x2160 60hz in the picture by picture mode but it turns out it can't handle that and if it detects you doing that it disables the mode. If AMD don't have any fix...
