Using a Touchscreen Laptop for Digital Art

I'm after some techy advice with regards to tablets.
Does anyone here think it's worth buying a touchscreen laptop as a replacement for a Wacom. I'm thinking of getting a Surface Pro 3 and wondering if anyone has had any experience...

Just out of curiosity, do you think I would be better off getting a Surface Pro 3 so I can use the laptop as a drawing tablet? I am new to illustrating and rather than pay 1600 for a tablet maybe I could go in for the SP3?
