I'm looking to upgrade my GPU/CPU to a RTX4070 Super + 5800X3D, from RTX2070 and 9700k. I had my eye on this Motherboard, but it's been out of stock for a little while - What's a decent alternative for this CPU (or is new stock coming within the week)?
I'm eligible for FTTP with Plusnet, after using their standard unlimited fibre broadband (76Mb) for ages. Does anyone know what the latency is like with FTTP? Was thinking about getting the 300Mb package. My pings to Google / BBC are around 19ms, but they're typically very stable, no spikes.
Bought an AOC monitor this week, sadly there's a dead pixel on it.
What's the policy on returns / replacements? I made a request through the AOC site already, but I'm wondering if Overclockers themselves have anything to do with it either.
Cheers either way.
...aaand, the triple check. After testing the power supply (fine) and tripping the power button on the motherboard with minimal parts installed and no case (fine), it looks like there was probably the 24-pin partly loose and all is fine.
Thanks for the quick delivery on all my parts, I'll ask...
Thanks very much, it's in now. Sadly, there's no power on and I've double checked the cables. I bought a psu tester from Amazon and I'm going to unseat the motherboard to see if part of it isn't raised from the case or something.
Hopefully I can get it fixed by Monday.

PSU & Case if anyone can help
Bought near a full upgrade this week, been trying to put it together. My old SuperFlower gold 650w PSU will not fit the holes of the enthoo pro case at all. In fact, the holes all seem to be simply too high for the PSU.
My old Corsair 200r had no issue, at a bit of a loss as to what I can do...
Sorry mate I have absolutely no idea at all how to do that. I've never overclocked a thing in my life.
One temporary fix I've found is just install MSI afterburner and create a new fan profile so my temps are topping out at 75 instead of 80. The black screen issue isn't happening now it...
I bought a Galax 970 just over a year ago and I've been running into some BSOD issues;
In addition to this, while playing Defence Grid 2 on very high (which really pushes the card up to 80 degrees, which most games rarely get to) my display will go to black for a second and then come...
Same, I have no need for more than 1920x1080 so I don't think I'm really affected, assuming there even is a noticeable issue. Looking at youtube videos, I see a lot of people reporting zero issues, apart from awful framerates from running everything at 4x DSR maxed out.
Seems like a lot of hot air over a small issue really. Tried a few games at 4x DSR and everything turned on, but framerates plummet to sub-30 by the time I've crawled past 3000MB of VRAM usage.
Maybe if I was running SLI I'd be bothered by this.
Tried CSGO at these settings for 25 minutes;
Didn't really see any issue at all and, unless I'm checking the wrong thing, didn't see my VRAM usage go over 2000MB (1912MB here).
I've been using a CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 650W since mid-2009 and it has worked fine throughout several rebuilds.
That said, I plan on replacing it this year simply because it's been over 5 years by this point. Perhaps I've never had a problem because I never overclock and keep it...
Got my Galax 970 today, works great.
The only game I've tested that has a hint of coil whine so far is the Witcher 2 during loading screens. Hits about 2800fps and there's an audible whine. Also a very quiet whine during gameplay (about 120fps average with these settings). My old 560 was far...
I'm getting a Galax next week, simply because I don't give a fig about overclocking and have heard way too many negative comments with regards to MSI and coil whine / fan problems.
I agree, never understood the hard-on people get for OC'ing. The difference is usually in the realm of single digits for framerates. I'd much rather lower a setting and enjoy playing than fiddling around for days perfecting an overclock.
