Thoughts on the Lenovo Legion quality

I have a Legion and use some kind of slim Lenovo (either is / similar to an X1 Carbon) for work. The build quality on the Legion is fine, very happy with it - the main issue I have is that it's a) extremely bulky and b) can't be charged via USB-C. Compared to my work laptop that I can slam...

    Is Amazon delivery getting worse?

I tend to use it when I need something very quickly, otherwise I'll check elsewhere.

    Anyone using Wegovy?

Yikes, that's rough. Glad you caught it in time.

    Anyone using Wegovy?

I've just kicked off today, will see how things go. I'm under medical advice to heavily restrict my exercise, and have really struggled to maintain my weight since that happened, so hopefully this will help get things moving and get me back to a starting point that I can manage in the...

How much crap do you have on hire purchase?

I'll happily take 0% when it's available, although a lot of places are now offering it for 3-4 months and I just don't think it's worth the hassle. At the end of the day, I'll always pick the option that's eventually cheapest for me. Even 2% I'd take if it was a sufficiently big purchase and...

Anyone know what this could be ?

I was wondering at first if they were fakes, supposed to look like a security system. Camera mounts does make more sense.

Will we ever get a rival to the PC?

Something will change eventually, e.g. a point where for the average office person a fully-fledged OS is more risky than anything else and tablet-style operating systems are used instead. But I can't see anyone challenging MS at their own game - it would more be that current OSs as we know them...

British Airways business class seating sucks on the A380

BA have just been a bit later than other airlines to introduce the latest generation of business class seating - as Penfold said, they're not deployed on A380 so personally if I was paying for BA business, I would make sure I was booked on a different plane. Their latest seat is getting some...

I did, couldn't really see a reason not to

    Bst should be kept permanently.

Would it be so difficult for places to just change their working hours a bit? Seems mad to me that our justification for the entire country's time zone is based on people in one specific area still being able to start work at 830. If they want to wait until it's light to start work... is there...

Bacon butties - with or without butter?

My family never cooked with or spread butter, blew my mind the first time I had a bacon sandwich with it.

Does anyone else struggle day by day, week by week with work?

I always hoped that having enough time off, working from home more etc would make me suddenly not care about all the crap. But nope, even now WFH 90% of the time I still get fed up of stupid stuff happening, poor management, smoke and mirrors, politics etc.

Do you charge your children "keep" or rent? Do/did you pay it yourself?

Exactly. You don't have to force people to learn things.

Do you charge your children "keep" or rent? Do/did you pay it yourself?

My parents knew I was saving virtually everything I could to buy my own place, so it would have been totally counterproductive to charge rent / keep. I would have agreed had they asked, but I wouldn't have been happy about it.

Spec me a toaster - long slots and deep?

Someone bought me a Dualit and I really like it. Probably a big part of that is that I didn't have to bankrupt myself. Nice toast.

How modern dog rescue centres operate nowadays

A friend of mine volunteered to drive around and do home inspections for a charity, got really fed up with it and gave in because she'd check out these houses and owners, endorse everything, and then the charity owner would veto it for literally any reason on the form - e.g. garden too small, or...

Can I get any better then a Playstation 3?

I would imagine that you'd save a lot of power using a modern player, which would be a big decider for me as I've been trying to cut back where I can.

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

I'm very careful in what I'd say to someone who isn't sure whether to have kids - it's a totally personal choice etc, but considering you're already on this journey I'll happily say the below. Yes, there are plenty of downsides. And when you look at them in isolation, it sounds like total...
