This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Yeah, to me Ofgem have been stealthily increasing their margins as a means of assurance of having no more suppliers leave the market. They obviously aware if they announced a margin increase from 1.9% to the current 6.7% it wouldnt go down well, so it was done in stages under different...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

It isnt. The debt was the excuse needed to start a longer term increase of the SC, and I think now most of the debt has even been dealt with. I dont know all of what has been lumped on to the SC. But some of the stuff. Funding to allow suppliers to write off debt, without them needing to...

My auto retention is £36, although with a requirement to keep my O2 sim so effectively about £50. So if they prove stubborn try the 500mbit route with an O2 sim as that will bump it to gig1. They sent me a new auto retention offer yesterday, this second one waives the 2024 RPI increase, but I...

I think without a political intervention its going to keep going the way it is, Ofgem have lost it, I think they just see it as an easy fix for lots of stuff.

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Even when I was in a bedsit, I had access to my own meter and paid my own bill. Seen a fair few videos lately from landlords who do inclusive billing, one had incorporated a £120 electric cost into his rents, so tenants cant shop around etc. plus of course if they use less than £120 they dont...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Octopus released a video yesterday talking about the SC and the state of the market in general (renewables etc.) I have moved back to agile from tracker for electric (assuming they allow it), I checked my previous 30 days on octopus compare, and only one day was green for tracker(it had the...

The joy of being a landlord

Its both basically, such a strange policy, I feel it was announced to appease those who think that it will magically increase supply of houses to buy and that the rental crisis is some kind of moot issue.

I have had mine for a while. It makes a mockery of the IHD, it is so much better. You see the live electric reading in the app, as well as current day in the app. Live is for electric only as gas meter doesnt support it, but still will get current day for gas.

I am curious if the new MDU tax changes will cause a similar catalyst of rent increases the same as the changes Osborne introduced, as usually a tax on a LL is a tax passed on to tenants. It feels like another short sighted change.

Thats pretty bad, I have an automated retention offer for £36 on gig1, without even attempt to try human retentions. This is why so many hate VM I think, its just a complete web of a haggling lottery.

RB wont let Max get challenged, they will deliberately not pick someone like Lewis or Alonso, and also gimp the second car. Historically they have been a one driver team.

Yep thats why I said its my city, they seem to have problems in my area, but the ISP told me its highly unusual for them so I guess they better in other areas. The rollout in my city has been very odd, lots of unexplained delays, only 5 houses on my street my side of park (am one of them) have...

For those who love to slate VM. When I rejoined them in Autumn 2022, I was online within a few days of the order. I put in an order for City Fibre and the earliest date is in June for installation. In my city CF are a train wreck right now, loads of shenanigans to even get some of the area...

The joy of being a landlord

I have and I think its why even some Tories are getting onboard with a social house building program now, because the problem has got so big the housing benefits bill has become a behemoth. Part of the issue is of course letting agents, who I think should be banned entirely. There is a few...

The joy of being a landlord

This can be flipped round to a lot of landlords mistake rising damp for condensation. Ultimately the cause cant be certain until an expert looks at it. For reference do you open your own windows at home in the middle of a freezing day? I actually might be forced to move soon, for a couple of...

    Decluttering your house.

Before calling it an excuse maybe dont make assumptions about my circumstances, a hire van thing has been considered, and have even spoke to a couple, the problem is I need to have everything moved in front ready for them to go, so its a kind of do everything at once deal instead of a more...

    Decluttering your house.

Been trying to do this for years, as always the problem is how do I get rid of the clutter, I would hire a skip, but cant with where my home is located. Struggle to get family to agree to take stuff to tip, and can only put so much in wheelie bin.
