*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

It's a 5V, 3A, 15W USB-C power supply. Even though I ordered from a UK seller (not direct from the ui store) they sent an EU version, with no adaptor, and no mention on their site that they were not shipping a UK plug or adaptor.

They didn't have them in stock on the UK store, and ordering from elsewhere (a UK company) was a bit cheaper than the EU store, will wait and see what mine comes with.

Same, got one being delivered today - my USG 3P has started to randomly reboot, or just not respond at times, so time for a replacement.

does anyone run a ads-b reciever

Got an old raspberry pi in the loft with a cheap sdr dongle and small antenna from Amazon. Feed to flight radar and flight aware to get a subscription. Doesn’t have great range, but was interesting to tinker with, and the subscriptions you get for free to flight radar and flight aware come...

    UK domain reg companies

Previously used Gandi, but their prices keep creeping up and up. Moved a bunch of domains to cloudflare - you have to use their nameservers though, which I don’t always want to do. But they are by far the cheapest, so I’ve taken to moving a domain to them, renew it for a long time (for some...

No, but intrigued if it’s a good replacement for an ageing usg and original cloud key. Let us know what it’s like when you have them up and running.

    What book are you reading...

Working my way through a re-read of Tom Clancy's books - on Red Rabbit at the moment. Then got to decide whether to read any of the following books which were written by others after Clancy's death.

Recommend me a budget office chair

Always worth taking a look locally and see if you have any office clearance companies around - One near me always has a load of chairs available, often really decent chairs, in really good condition, and quite cheap. Advantage of being able to try them first, rather than buying online and...

    24 Hours in Police Custody

Yep - Watched through these recently on Iplayer - quite similar to 24 Hours, some really interesting episodes.

Password managers! (Fed up of lastpass!)

Bitwarden here too. Moved from Keepass & passwords saved in browsers a few years ago after trying out various options. Had no issues with it.

    Is Amazon delivery getting worse?

I only get an estimated delivery time for about half the orders I place. So I’ve switched to using lockers wherever possible as at least then I can pick it up at a convenient time rather that missing a delivery.

    City Fibre

Has anyone else had part of their street able to get connected, and some not? I'm still waiting for City Fibre to actually be able to provide a connection to my house. Way back in 2020 they put leaflets through doors saying to register if you wanted to be one of their 'Fibre First' homes, so...

How many Raspberry Pis do you have and what are they used for?

Probably too many, and lost track of what models. Got an old 3b and I think a zerow running2 pihole instances, another something in the loft for flight tracking. Another one running a vpn, and one that disgruntled at one point. Oh, and another running companion with a stream deck plugged in to...

    Travel insurance recommendations?

Coverwise did eventually pay out. It took a while, and a complaint before they did though. It was mainly their assistance that was terrible. They couldn’t book a hotel room anywhere near the hospital my brother was in, but could book one an hour and a half away. I ended up telling them I’d just...

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Thanks, that's good to know - Don't want to switch, then get stuck with a non-working smart meter, and then have to wait ages for a replacement.

This is getting ridiculous (energy prices - Strictly NO referrals!)

Considering switching to Octopus - but I've got an old Smets1 smart meter, which isn't listed on their site as the brand that will work with them, so will have to switch back to providing meter readings. Has anyone moved over to Octopus recently with an old smart meter - if so, how long until...

    Air fryers

I’ve got the Duronic AF34 with both the 2 small and 1 large basket. Does come in useful having both options - I mainly use the 2 small baskets though. Not got anything to compare it to, but seems to work fine. Buttons can be a bit hit and miss, especially trying to adjust time or temp -...

    Travel insurance recommendations?

LV or MPI for me. Had annual policies with both, with winter sports cover. Have had to claim on both. A quick and easy experience with the claims paid out with no quibbles. MPI was a cancellation due to a member of the group not being able to travel for medical reasons. LV for delayed baggage...

    What’s your favourite toast topping?

For breakfast - butter and marmite. Any other time, add some cheddar to the butter and marmite.
