It does user less power and runs cooler, indeed, but in what world is the 1060 much faster than the 480? It is ahead on DX11, behind on DX12 and much slower on Doom + Vulkan.

So it's better than the RX 480 in DX11, worse in most DX12 games (apart from ROTTR)...with a much higher clock than the AMD card, i expected more.
i wonder why they didn't benchmark Doom with Vulkan as well.
So this really is a matter of choice if you want to use...
Well, a Tri-X is a different beast compared to the Twin Frozr, so there's that.
On a side note, i'm pondering if i'm better off with trying to watercool the thing with the Corsair HG10 + an H55.
So, is it still the case that the Nitro+ will ship on the 22nd?
You're free to ask how many times you want and it would be wise of the staff to reply, as it's good customer service, but i couldn't help to notice the impatience. Anyway, good luck with the wait :)
Decisions, decisions. Leaning towards the Fury, just trying to think if the difference in...
Nah, just head over to the Steam forums. It's over 9000 over there.
And charging and arm and a leg for that. Trust me, i loved my old 660, but NVIDIA card prices are getting ridiculous. At least one vendor is trying to bring acceptable performance for the masses. And it's not...
But when you skip one of the MAJOR features of the new API because it might downgrade performance or not run at all on one of the vendors, things start to look suspicious. As Ashes showed before and Doom is showing with Vulkan now, proper async compute (with true parallelism) will be part of...
And this, folks, illustrates the patience of millenials. Gotta love the 21st century...
Back on topic, i'm really torn between investing on a higher tier card (1070/980Ti/Fury X/Fury Nano) or just buying a RX480 and waiting for HBM2 cards.
Can't really decide what should i buy to replace...
Man, don't waste your time. He didn't even bother replying to my comment about differences between HBM and GDDR5 and keeps repeating the same (mis)information about 4GB on the Fury not being enough. No idea what people gain from doing stuff like that.
You must be joking, right? Now if you were...
Please stop spreading mis-information like that, you can't directly compare HBM with GDDR5 or even GDDR5X. If memory can be moved much faster (and on a much wider bus as well) you're not going to see the same spikes in usage, even with the same assets / textures being used, which means you can...
I hope your former maths teacher isn't reading this, otherwise you might get to be the next one using the donkey hat...
1120 (base clock) -> 1350 (usually the maximum stable clock with reference model) is approximately a 20.5% increase.
Some interesting findings from our German friends at Computerbase:
https://www.computerbase.de/2016-06/radeon-rx-480-test/12/#abschnitt_viel_potenzial_fuer_undervoltage_bei_der_rx_480
Basically, with some undervolting, the card starts showing it true potential. So ~390X performance and using...
