Thanks, I didnt realise the smaller cards (as in not using all the connectors for the larger slot) would work in the x16 slot . I assumed you would need a card that fills the slot, live and learn!

Yeh my first thought was to go ITX. matx is a little more flexible with m.2 etc , and i was a little concerned with the heat in an itx case unless u invest in decent cooling. If i wanted to build something on itx, what should i be looking at?
