Trying to run crossfire vega 64, struggling to get it to work right.
Mostly play BF4 / Battlefront 2 on a 240hz monitor.
any advice on how to get it to run smoothly. Going from a 1080ti the video experience is far behind what I'm used to.
The video quality itself seems to lack and the...
AMD is planning on utilising the AM4 socket for a prolonged period of time, not sure what Intel's recent developments are but they seem to change socket often so if you would to upgrade your CPU you would need a new Motherboard as well.
You can probably save a bit on your cpu cooling choice...

£300 over the release price, which most people thought was overpriced lol
£630 now. I at least hope these increases partly go to the manufacturers so they can invest into production and not entirely into the pocket of vendors.
Can't turn off crossfire, couldn't do it on 17.11.1 which itself did not even detect a driver update and could not register change from graphics to compute. Had to clean uninstall and then install 17.11.3.
4 of my Vegas have 1 bar red usage. 1 however has a green.
From experience the fans not spinning is to do with the pcie connection. Make sure you power the Vega with 2 different cables not 1 that has 2 ends. The x16 slot has to be the card connected to the monitor. Also, it's a lot of trial and error. Sometimes works sometimes doesn't. One of my Vega 64...
A new AMD rx580 8gb, Red Dragon or something from Powercolour, should be out soon for £250, sounds good. I love the new AMD Vega cards, however now that their prices went up I wouldn't recommend them.
well in terms of performance, the 1050ti is a close match to your 780. 1060s and 1070s are not worth their prices, i'd say a 1080 is good value if you can find one around 500. All just my opinion though ^^
also a decent replacement id say is a 1050ti, also that cards price isn't too inflated as its not great for mining - I would know - tbh its a horrible time to buy graphics cards. Waiting to jump on that new rx 580 coming out soon for £250.
Atm I have a AMD FX 8320 cpu, could give overclocking a try and maybe get it to 4.5 Ghz. Sufficient or would the processor and AM3 board hinder performance? also could I get ddr4 RAM on the AM3 board? all very new to this :D
