    Retro console and games thread

Recently found my old Game Gear in my mums shed, didnt work at all and had a massive amount of rust and corrosion. Cleaned, recapped and new LCD. From trash to treasure.

    RC cars

I think you could be surprised how many clubs are around, issue is they're not always easy to find. When I got in RC racing a few years ago, I could literally find one through Google searches but when I asked at the club, they told me about loads of others. I could literally race every day of...

    *** Nintendo Switch ***

They want to sell it for £35 too, I cant see too many pay that money for a cloud game. I didnt think it played to well for me either, quite a bit of stutter. I did choose the high visuals option tho. PS Now library on Switch would be amazing.

    *** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I've only ever went from Disc > Digital twice and both times my saved games didnt work between the two. Quite annoying when you've put some time into a game and you have to do it all over again. Trophies were the same, but saved game progress didnt work. I assume it has a different title ID and...

I sold my Pixel 2 XL the other day and had some Slickwrap skins left over. Anyone want one of them? Send some info through trust and I'll put out the one you want.

It depends on what material you use, the standard 3D printing materials like PLA, ABS and PETG aint super strong. PLA is probably the strongest but brittle, ABS has the most give so has some flex. There are other materials which maybe better suited to the task like Nylon or Polycarbonate but...

    Far Cry 5

It's tough to start with, your health doesnt go very far and limited on ammo. I had to be very careful for quite a while until I ranked up my character quite a bit. It does get a little easier (and more fun) after that. Just aim on getting loads of perk points.

7850 to 1050Ti? Worth the upgrade

Yeah, its arriving on Thurs now too. Its already been a good upgrade as I recently got a R5 1600. I ran through some 3DMark tests (first time since 2013, shows how long I've had the previous setup) and even with the same 7850 with the new R5 1600 @ stock vs the FX8320 @ 4.2Ghz, it smashes it by...

Found it, thanks. I'll go for that one then.

7850 to 1050Ti? Worth the upgrade

Well I did bite the bullet and get the 1050Ti on a little bit of an impulse buy as it was £140 delivered. I couldnt find any direct real world benchmarks between them except for those synthetic ones which dont always paint a real picture however the reviews for the 1050Ti showed an almost 60FPS...

7850 to 1050Ti? Worth the upgrade

Hi guys I have a 2GB AMD 7850 and recently upgraded my CPU to a R5 1600 so looking at upgrading the GPU too. I dont play many of the newest titles (usually play games like BF4, Siege etc) and only have a 1080p60 display so dont need the worlds best GPU (or have the budget for it :) ) Would the...

**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

I just had my 32GB 6P replaced by Google and got a 32GB 6P. No Pixel. I think it was a stock issue at the time as the lady put me on hold for 5mins to check the stock. It was a brand new 6P though. Knowing my luck I got the only 6P they had in stock and they'll go back to giving everyone else...

    Until Dawn

Woah this game caught me out. Got it this afternoon when the new PS+ games were released, then ended up playing it for like 6 hours straight. The wife even sat there for an hour watching it like a movie, totally absorbed too. Its a strange one when you think about it, theres no real fear/worry...

**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

Its not uncommon on the early betas. I've had it when using the early betas on the previous versions but suddenly the closer betas are lightning quick, I assume theres quite a lot of debug code in there still. Mine does feel a little sluggish on O too.

    PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

It will be a large increase over the Xbox One as that already struggles to match the original PS4 in terms of resolution and frame rate. I like the Pro, boost mode helps get the most out of non-supported games and all new games will gave Pro support. my biggest wish would be more user options...

    Playstation Plus

Especially when you see the Xbox's line up the past 2 months. I know you cant please everyone but I would love to have Project Cars and even Evolve (I know its basically a F2P game on PC now) I havent been interested in any of the line up for months. Shame.

    PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

You still get plenty of benefits even at 1080p. Pro support games either have increased visual effects @ 1080p or render at the high resolution but scale down so it still looks better, not to mention the new Boost mode should improve non-Pro supported games, especially ones that struggled...

    RC cars

I wouldnt say you need to have the best quality stuff, my batteries are from Hobbyking, the quality of their stuff is very good for the money imo and rarely puff up, even ones I sold a few years ago are still going strong. Even the soft case £7 lipos for my Micro do a very good job and pretty...

*** Official Kodi (née XBMC) Thread ***

Not very often. v16.1 (Jarvis) was released in April but I think v16 was about last February. Theres usually a vxx.1 fairly soon after release to mop up any bugs then its onto the next version. I expect v17 to stay current for atleast 9-12months and there will probably be a v17.1 within the...
