Don't go for Gigabyte guys...it's not worth a penny. Go for MSI instead.
I tried Gigabyte for a few weeks:
- after 20 mintues render on 8 cores VRM was hitting 85'C and MB would shut down
- issues with sound card (crackling noise)
- pc not waking up from sleep
- fans behaving as they want
-...
Tried both. First i started with original one mentioned by you. Couldn't fix it so i did fresh install and went with the one pulled by windows. Same bahavior.
If i plug speakers into external usb sound card everything works fine.
gigabyte z390 m gaming
This is really weird one.
start my PC normally - crackling during the music
If i restart pc (restart not shutdown/power on) it works like charm without issues.
If u put it in the sleep and wake up => crackling.
So seems like it works properly only after restart from...
Just fyi, Gigabyte sound card is garbage. Can't make it work properly with windows 10. Everytime i reboot PC i have to restart it again to stop crackling noise from the speakers. Super annoying.....
I might return it and go for MSI. Especially that PCI layout on Gigabyte , if i add sound card i...
Audio is important for me as well. I don't get the game code. So if I'll buy Gigabyte I have better vrm + I'll buy an external sound card which will be better than the one on the motherboard and I total about 10$ more expensive which is nothing :)
Yeah, just to be safe i think I'll go with https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-M-GAMING-rev-10#kf
10+2 and good quality as well if you trust Buildzoid. I have 1,9 Gbp wifi card anyway so only departments I'm settling are looks and sound card.
Yeah...and it has the looks :D Since I'm not planning to do any OC I think I'll go with MSI. Do some testing on 24 hours continuous load which is not uncommon for me and i guess we will see :)
Yeah, I've been there. They list MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC from which is my first screen for ATX. They don't have mATX version listed. And if i compare backplate between MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC and MPG Z390M Gaming Edge AC i think it has one phase less. But it's just me guessing by number of dots...
Yeah, it seems like I was wrong :P I'm trying to figure how many phases mATX version has. On one of youtube videos, I did a snapshot of the back.
Looks to me like it has 4+1 vs 5+1 it has on ATX which is bummer
Sadly no proper reviews on the WHOOOOLE internet :(
Thanks for all your input @rIcK
I was looking to create a setup with 9900k and I decided to go with mATX MSI as well. It's hard to find any review for this and your screens helped me to make a call.
A lot of people praising Gigabyte for their 10+2 VRM section. And guess what? MSI has the same...
