All that negativity and you haven't even tested the monitor yourself. And yes quality control for gsync monitors exists (https://youtu.be/Um0PFoB-Ls4) Enjoy your OLED TVs :)
You do know that native G-SYNC panels go through extensive quality control before they are approved right? Maybe you are talking about Freesync panels.
Update: So I calibrated my 38GL950G at 175Hz and 4:2:2 and I got an average Delta E of 0.11 and max of 0.77. The color temperature is at 6508K and the gamut coverage is as follows:
DCI-P3 (91.35%), SRGB (99.36%) and Adobe RGB (90.0%).
I'm assuming this is great since I'm using 4:2:2 and the...
Yeah i get what you mean. Ive had SLI before but never again after all the SLI profile pain and the negative scaling in some games. Hope u find ur perfect monitor soon :)
I suggest waiting until CES 2020 soon and see what new monitors will be announced. There will definitely be something for u. Or do like Fragger said and get a single 2080 Ti
I wouldn't advise you to buy this one if you are going to game at 3440x1440 since it's not the native resolution of this monitor and might not even work as a custom resolution (I am not willing to test this). It is not available to select as a resolution normally. It's probably better if you...
I love it, nothing new to add. It just sucks that Windows doesn't automatically switch to 10 bit when HDR is enabled at 120Hz.
Yup there is a fan and it's a bit audible if u have a silent PC and no sound in the background but it doesnt bother me personally and it's always running at the same speed.
Yup its the resolution difference. U can use this tool to calculate the max u can get with DP 1.4: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/729232-guide-to-display-cables-adapters-v2/?section=calc&H=3440&V=1440&F=120&calculations=show&formulas=show
I've been using the monitor at 175Hz since day 1 but 160Hz with RGB 8bpc works just like 144Hz according to my testing. I think they didn't advertise the monitor as 160Hz native because the Gsync module needs overclocking to achieve that. Other than that it should be identical to using 144Hz.
Update: I made a new observation. The monitor does have a fan but I only heard it once i turned off my PC (which is very quiet at IDLE) and the monitor so I'm not sure if the fan operates while the monitor is on or it kicks off when it's turned off to cool everything down. It was on for about 5...
So here are my observations/thoughts:
- The monitor's bright and very colorful out of the box. The brightness is set to 75% by default and contrast to 70%.
- I can confirm that you can run the monitor at 160Hz at 8-bit with full RGB and the option to set it to 160Hz is there once you enable OC...
