Ok. The length of this one was 1.8m, I didn't realise it was more sensitive with 5m +. It just reminds me of the old days when HDMI had just come out and retailers were trying to convince us we needed to spend silly money on cables.
Following my recent purchase of an LG CX5, I ordered a cheap 'basics' HDMI 2.0 cable from a well known online retailer. I wasn't really expecting it to work yet it is working perfectly for 4k @120hz. The source is my gaming PC with an RTX3070 card and I'm playing games and streaming movies with...
A follow up post for info in case anyone else is in the same position and wondering.
I picked up the second NVME this afternoon and tested it and concluded that reducing my RTX 3070 from Pcie 3.0 x16 to x8 makes no difference.
I tested with Timespy and MSI Kombustor with the card at stock...
Thank you. Funnily enough I found the same article after posting here. I think I'll just install it and see. I would imagine a Timespy benchmark would be good enough to establish if there was any significant throttling going on.
I strongly suspect that I won't see any difference.
So I got a bit over excited and ordered a second 1 TB M.2 Nvme today, only to remember afterwards that when my second M.2 slot is occupied the Pcie x16 slot is reduced to x8.
I have already run Timespy benchmarks for my current setup at X16 so rather than cancelling the order, I'm...
Well my stock Timespy benchmark score started at 11631. After tweaking the maximum I got it to was 12722. Using the Palit Thunder Master app as a previous poster suggested add 1000mhz to memory, and increase the core. Increasing the power to max which i think is 113% also adds a couple of...
Should be fine! I bought the MSI RTX 2070 Super Ventus GP as a temporary card a few weeks ago and it was a cracking card, so I see no reason why the 3070 shouldn't be a good card too.
I've since bought a Palit RTX 3070, again a brand I wouldn't have previously considered but believing an Asus...
Thanks for that advice. I've just run Timespy again with +1000Mhz on the memory and the same +136 on core and the Timespy benchmark has gone up to 12168. I can't see your 3070 results but I can see your 2080ti.
Edit: If I filter Timespy results down to 2080ti and Ryzen 5 3600 for comparison...
I received my Palit RTX 3070 Gaming Pro non overclocked this morning and have to say I am well chuffed with it.
After installing the card I then installed the tools from the Palit website which prompted a firmware update. I also installed the Palit overclocking utility called Thunder Master...
Nice one!
@Gibbo. I noticed you were getting a bit of stick earlier in the thread by someone. WelI I would like to say thank you for the hints on the Palit non OC stock. They were clear to me so thanks to you I managed to get one.
For my recent new build PC I wanted a 3080. I had an MSI Ventus 3x oc on pre-order but cancelled. Ended up buying a GTX980 on Ebay as a temporary card for £90. Its fine, and happily playing MS flight sim 2020 on lowish settings. It will do for now.
Hopefully won't lose anything when I sell...
I felt sick to the stomach when I heard this story. Such a terrible waste of life and so close to his retirement. No-one has the right to take another life regardless of your warped view of the world.
I thought people would like some feedback on the G64 managers chair for gaming.
Although I was initially tempted by one of the many PU leather chinese chairs that are all over Amazon, I was put off by some of the reviews, specifically from those that have had the chair for a while. I was also...
I'm curious. How does it work for the retailers who still have RTX2000 series stock?
Do they lose out, will they reduce them in a fire sale, can they return them to the manufacturer.
No-one in their right mind is going to buy one at current prices.
