Thank you! You are perfectly correct. There is no need to pay these crazy prices to play the latest games at 4K with ultra settings. Slightly older games don't look too much worse and will run excellently on any 3000 series GPU. My current PC which has RTX 3080 Ti & Ryzen 5800X3D was built...
It will be like Ryzen 7000 series. Too expensive. Most people won't buy, and it will be left on the shelves. Maybe initially the first batch will sell out to bots and early adopters, but when the stock comes back I believe it will just sit there until they reduce the prices.
Yeah, but last time the RTX 3080 was a very good price for the level of performance. IMHO better value than even the 3070, as normally prices go up exponentially for small gains, but between those two models it was a huge jump in performance and the price increase wasn't huge. I got my RTX...
Extra screens on xplane. I tried a GT710 for the secondary but it was stuttering. I am considering a setup with six 1080p screens. Obviously cannot do that on just the 3080. I haven't yet tried it, due to lack of monitors. All I have done so far is validate that one screen on the 3080 and...
I have no idea if there are spikes. It hasn't turned itself off or anything and my 3DMark scores seem about the expected level. The 3080 is undervolted and restricted to 1900Mhz. Doing that actually gave me higher scores than leaving it at stock and letting it reach 2050Mhz (which it only did...
My system has a RTX3080, GTX 1660S and Ryzen 3800X. PSU is fully modular 750W corsair. No issues. It draws 460W peak at the wall when gaming or benchmarking
£250 was my max budget last year so I bought a 1660 Super. However then the 3000 series hype happened, and I couldn't resist and bought a £650 MSI Ventus. It seems to get about triple the performance of the 1660 Super so, really doesn't seem any worse in terms of cost per frame rendered. I...
Are you stalking me? Lol. I was looking at the 24G2U just yesterday! Thats the model I am considering buying. My existing screens are Viewsonic VP2468. They are discontinued now, but were £230 each. As for requiring Adobe RGB, I am not sure that is necessarily true. I have a friend that is...
Ultrawides look fantastic for games that support the resolution. What do they do if, say, you play a game that only supports up to 1080p. Does it stretch the image or place it in the center unstretched (borders all around) or in centre to fit (borders on left and right only)
Interesting video on this subject:
I am considering swapping my centre 1080p 24 inch screen with a high refresh rate one. Dont really want to get a different resolution or size monitor as it will not look as good together with the other screens
What resolution is that where you are struggling to get 60fps?
Edit: sorry, I see you are on 1440p. Does sound low compared to what I have seen elsewhere. Cant compare to mine, as I am only 1080p.
Another update. The LINKUP cable (£65) works perfectly at PCIe 4.0 speeds. I have validated this by checking that GPU-Z shows it using PCIe 4.0 and I have done some benchmarks and gaming with no issues. Of course it hasn't made any real difference to the scores over PCIe 3.0 but at least I...
