It does help with reducing screen tearing but as long as you have a powerfull enough graphics cards to run games at the 144hz tearing shouldnt really be an issue. V-sync is normally enough. or often gsync monitors also do free sync.
I had this issue a while back but this was where i turned it on and it would not register.
for me it was the motherboards bios so you may want to update it if it isnt on the latest version.
a 2060 or super variant would do you just fine. I have a 2060 with a 1440p monitor and i get around 90fps at the near lowest setting so at 1080p you should probably get 144fps at near max settings.
for 1080p it should be enough for at least 3 years for 1440p it will probably be enough for 2 years at least, for 4k its not really going to be enough for newer games.
the funny thing is they can do something about it as half the cards they are getting are going into pre builts even though most of those dont have pre order queues. Its ridiculous we have pre ordered and payed them money to get the cards and there putting them into pre builts which aren't...
A 3070 will probably bottleneck so i would wait a bit and see what prices you can get for second hand 2070s. anything else and the CPU and Ram to a certain extent will bottleneck it. If you want to game at 1440p 165hz at any point you need to upgrade that CPU.
you could in the meantime upgrade...
A competitor I shall not name or I'll get suspended has a neat system for tracking when they get deliveries and how many orders from each brand are left on their website. They have less pre orders than overclocker UK for gigabyte cards as they had a pre order cap, yet they managed to get...
I was reading up and of the thousands of gigabyte cards were delivered to the UK this week Overclockers Uk apparently hasn't had any as I only moved down the list 20 places which are probably cancellations.
Competitors I have seen have had hundreds delivered to them and they have shipped them...
anyone else got any queue update for the gigabyte OC card?
gigabyte announced there was going to be a large shipment to the UK this week probably 1000+.
