    Nvidia recognises 10gb isn't enough - RTX3080 gets a VRAM upgrade

Really don't see the big deal. The only game that the 3080 struggles with for vram is far cry 6. An AMD sponsored title thats obviously going to limit nvidias performance in whatever way they can. They even have to nerf Ray tracing to make RDNA2 look good . And yes I'm aware nvidia nerf AMD on...

Rx 6800xt red devil loud fans

    Hi everyone, I think I've managed to solve things. I honestly think I just set my fan speeds too high to begin with. I've set a much less aggressive fan curve than before; P1: 30% 30c P2: 33% 50c P3: 37% 65c P4: 40% 80c P5: 45% 90c This keeps my card at a steady 67c in RDR2 at 1440p High...

Rx 6800xt red devil loud fans

Its when I try to set a custom profile that the fans start to go a bit nuts. Although, looking at your profile, I might be setting the fan speed too high maybe? I let my max fan speed go up to 60%. Maybe I could try setting it a lot lower and that might help

Rx 6800xt red devil loud fans

Only 'quiet' causes the card to very slightly downclock, but its hardly noticeable. 'Balanced' makes the fans run a little faster but maintains default frequencies. But yeah it keeps my card at a nice and quiet noise level, so I'll probably just stick with it.

Rx 6800xt red devil loud fans

I thought it seemed off. My fans stay within 1000 to 1200rpm when I set the balanced or quiet presets, but become loud when I apply a manual fan curve.

Rx 6800xt red devil loud fans

30% is fine, but as soon as the card hits 50c its like the fans jump to 1500-1700rpm when they don't need to.

Rx 6800xt red devil loud fans

I was told this card was dead silent, but for me its been super loud whenever I run a somewhat demanding game. I should preface that I've installed the latest drivers (21.4.1), and set my own custom fan curve to be as quiet as possible, whilst still leaving the fans at effective speeds. I can't...

    Rx 6800 good enough?

Wow this thread blew up. Its been interesting to read through, to say the least. I'll say that I've gone ahead and bit the bullet. The nitro was out of stock, so I settled for a pulse as its basically the same just no adjustable RGB. I'm convinced that this card is going to be the best for...

    Rx 6800 good enough?

I think its a ASRock phantom gaming 580. I think. Was ages ago when I got my pre-build and I've tried going through my order history but can't find it. The cards come in very handy during these times though. Yes its an 8gb model

    Rx 6800 good enough?

So its either wait for ages to scramble for a drop and hope to god I'm quick enough to get something. Or get a 6800 by selling a kidney. Or just cry at the state of the market.

    Rx 6800 good enough?

I know, I'm out of other options and this is what I'm left with lol. I'm only considering it though, gonna be holding off on anything that expensive for the time being. Can always just hang with my 580 for now.

    Rx 6800 good enough?

Awesome. Unless something changes soon enough, I think I'll consider a 6800 for now. Cheers.

    Rx 6800 good enough?

Thanks for all your suggestions, I've learned a lot about the current situation. Probably going to keep my eye out for now, but at the same time waiting isnt going to help much. When I was picking my components, I was first gunning for a 2070 super, but they were all out too. The 5700 was...

    Rx 6800 good enough?

Hmm, yeah in all honestly thats basically the level of performance I'd be fine with. I'm not even looking into OC'ing that much, nor am I that bothered about ray tracing. £700 is still really steep for me, but it doesn't look as if the situation is improving in the near future. I'd be happy to...

    Rx 6800 good enough?

God this is insane. I picked a really horrible time to get into PC gaming lol. I've still got my humble 580 from my old pre-build, might just stick with that until things settle down.

    Rx 6800 good enough?

Yeah it is. Obviously a 30 series card is more ideal, and was what I originally wanted, but alas that's not happening anytime soon.

    Rx 6800 good enough?

Newbie here I originally got a 5700xt but it ran into a fault a few days after I was using it. Tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. RMA'd it to scan, I would've been fine with a replacement but I got a refund instead. Probably because any others are out of stock. And here I am...

Rx 5700xt drivers bricked my card?

I feared as much. Though this issue literally started the moment I downloaded the driver. Maybe turning my pc on and off caused some damage? If it was just a matter of changing drivers, I'd be getting something atleast. So I guess an RMA is in order.

Rx 5700xt drivers bricked my card?

Hey everyone, I have very recently finished my first build, and I was using a sapphire nitro + rx 5700xt. It was working fine at first, but then I (stupidly) decided to update to the most recent drivers. Instant black screen as soon as the download finished. I tried turning my pc off and on...
