I bought a Gigabyte one for £650 from a competitor. Then managed to get a 3080 FE so put the 3070 on the auction site for £725 to cover fees and it was snapped up. Crazy prices.
Feel free to ship it my way. Every time I added to the basket, I got an error it was no longer able to process. Few mins later there were none available for delivery. :(
They have been available a few times over the past couple of days. Only available for about a minute at a time though. They were only actually listed since the weekend on their site.
I’m running my 3080 FE on an MSI X570 with 5800X and 32gb 3600 cl16 RAM powered by a Corsair RM750 psu. Rock solid with no issues hours into MSFS2020. This is with a Noctua air cooler on the cpu which helps pull warm air away from the RAM.
For some higher value items, DPD will not let you use a safe place - it may actually be noted on the tracking page. This was the case when my gpu was delivered last week.
What kind of case do you have and how is your airflow within? The switch from a 1080 to 3080 will introduce more heat into the case and some of that heat is being exhausted directly over the RAM area. If your RAM was already close enough to its limit then even a small amount of additional heat...
You and me both. 3080 will be installed tomorrow but opened it up this evening and surprised how classy it looks. Not that it will be shown off but very impressed.
