If you're looking at getting BF 2042 then BF4 would be the ideal game to hone your skills on as they are similar games albeit with 2042 running on a newer Frostbite engine.

I started on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k+. My first PC was an Amstrad 1640 with 2 x 5.25 inch floppy disks... I can also remember when hard disks bacame a thing. A 10MB (yes, 10 MEGABYTES!!!) was considered a huge anount of storage space!

Age is just a state of mind! I'm 62 in November & can still hold my own with young guns on CoD MP & Battlefield (on PC). Yes reaction time naturally slows but as you stated you tend to compromise. There's more than one way to skin a cat ;)

@martind, My Strix 1080ti shows up in iCUE, always has done. Not changed any settings. Don't know if it makes any difference but I have SDK unticked in settings. As an aside also, my Asus Prime z390 shows up in iCUE too. I also have Armoury Crate & Asus AURA installed.
