My Enthoo pro makes a lot of weird noises, things to check:
Check the front fan as mine made an awful clicking noise, ended up using another fan - no support/response from Phanteks.
Make sure the cross brace at the back of the HDD bays is tight (mine was loose).
I lined the HDD bays with a...
Everyone has bad 200mm fans? Mine makes an awful rubbing/rattling noise when it's powered on - cut the power and the noise stops instantly.
It's not just the usual wooshing fan noise.
Not heard back from Phanteks after a week.
If you have a PWM signal - connect the SATA plug. If you're using CPU_OPT (no PWM) then it will run at full speed if you connect the SATA.
I found that the RPM doesn't go low enough even with the CPU header on minimum. Motherboard controller is so much more flexible.
I've got 2 HDDs and the...
I also got one of these, build quality isn't as great as I was expecting but it's still a really nice case.
Left side panel has some sort of imperfection like a circle of dust under the paint about 3-4mm diameter.
The accessory box was loose inside the case (wedged itself against the top &...
Anyone have one of these yet? Wanted to know if the Gigabyte Z97 (D3H) boards output PWM on the CPU_OPT for the fan hub.
From what I've read, CPU_OPT generally mirrors the CPU PWM output which should be OK.
Do you use EasyTune? My CPU RPM increases with CPU temp but my system fans don't increase so I assume they are linked with System temp instead, which barely changes.
Make sure you find one with a fan that spins at <1000 RPM so it's actually quiet when idle.
No point in having 1000+ RPM blaring away with your CPU at 25-30degress.
I am seeing the same thing with a 4670k. Intel switching from soldered to pasted IHS stops a lot of the heat getting out.
No wonder lots of review sites use Sandy, Nehalem, Sandy-E or Synthetics to test coolers.
This doesn't sound right to me at all. With my older CPUs, the heatsink was warm/hot even when the cpu was at 40 degrees and pushing out warm air.
The heat should transfer out better than you describe. Feel the amount of hot air that comes from your loaded GPU and I bet that doesn't even get...
My heatsink is nowhere near the temperature (touching it and it's barely warm) of my reported CPU load temp, which is 50° according to easytune and 60° on each core reported by Open Hardware Monitor. Even the backplate for the CPU cooler is warmer than the CPU block.
I'm wondering if it's a...
Those numbers are disappointing. Maybe they will be better clockers but right now it looks like Ivy is a better buy, especially when you consider the premium that you will have to pay for month or two after release.
10%+ price for <10% performance increase...
Thanks, its really helpful. I have my pc on the floor so top-mounted usb is really ideal compared to the bottom-mounted I currently have. The front of the case can be removed completely, right? And you can clean the front grill easily? Does it have solid thumb screws or normal screws in jackets?
