Anyone have one of these yet? Wanted to know if the Gigabyte Z97 (D3H) boards output PWM on the CPU_OPT for the fan hub. From what I've read, CPU_OPT generally mirrors the CPU PWM output which should be OK.

Do you use EasyTune? My CPU RPM increases with CPU temp but my system fans don't increase so I assume they are linked with System temp instead, which barely changes.

Make sure you find one with a fan that spins at <1000 RPM so it's actually quiet when idle. No point in having 1000+ RPM blaring away with your CPU at 25-30degress.

Can you feel more heat coming off the heatsink since you did this?

I am seeing the same thing with a 4670k. Intel switching from soldered to pasted IHS stops a lot of the heat getting out. No wonder lots of review sites use Sandy, Nehalem, Sandy-E or Synthetics to test coolers.
