    Hiking, backpacking, trekking, mountaineering...

Not used the Salewa myself but I can recommend the Vango Nova 300. Priced similarly to that in Go Outdoors and it's a great tent. Quick and easy to put up, seems great quality and has all the features you might need in my opinion. It's branded as a 3 person tent but it's more a comfy 2 person tent.

What are you listening to, GD?

Not sure if Sleep Token have been mentioned here, but I have to recommend them. Quite progressive but with some interesting influences from the likes of Deftones it seems. The vocalist is out of this world and some of the songs absolutely slap in the breakdown sections. Not only that but the...

    ** Diablo 2 Resurrected Thread **

Can't wait to fire up my thousands of pounds of PC to play a 20 year old game :) Actually gonna be great setting up a classic lan session again.

Advice for first time user (new job, new MacBook Air!)

For window snapping, there are plenty of options. However, Better Touch Tool provides window snapping along with tons of other features which are super useful, including key rebounds/macros. Another quick tip is screenshotting (omg is so much better on Mac). CMD + shift + 3 : screenshot the...

    Autonomous ErgoChair Pro+ or similar

There's a big price difference between the Autonomous and HM chairs, seems odd to be trying to decide between the two? As a potential alternative, check out some of the products from Orangebox. They're a UK company so availability might be easier. Somehow they're not as well known, but make...

Spec me: An office chair. Again.

I'll be perfectly honest: if spending 18 hours in your chair is not uncommon then it should be well within reason to rethink your budget. It can be harder to find chairs that really work for heavier built gents, but £200 for a new chair that you want to sit in for days on end is pretty limting...

    Office Chair vs. Gaming Chair

Just a general recommendation for anyone really. I bought an Orangebox Do at the beginning of lockdown and it's been the best purchase I made in a while. I got it 2nd hand from a refurbisher for £120 in pretty much new condition. It's simple to operate, looks great (clean and simple design) and...

New PC build. Now or hold on for DDR5

While ddr5 is rumoured to be a big upgrade over ddr4, the current performance of ddr4 is perfectly up to the task for any modern game. I don't think the upgrade of ddr5 would benefit you for gaming alone, so I would say that shouldn't be the reason for you to delay your purchase. The fairly...

Porridge... during the lockdown I rediscovered it and now eat it almost every day.

This is completely true from my experience too. It's the main reason why I normally do it on the job as it saves me taking it out of the m/wave so often.

Spec me a drill/impact driver combo

I've personally found the DeWalt impact pretty reasonable when it comes to noise levels. I wouldn't use it at night for sure, but I don't get neighbours guilt using it outside during the day at least.

*** The Car Cleaning Thread ***

Yup, got one myself and while I've probably not made enough use of it to justify the cost just yet, it seems like amazing value for so little cost compared to some options out there.

PC Games for a 5 yr old

Mods are what make Minecraft so great. I agree that it can be perpetual/repetitive, but only if you play it without mods. I'd recommend downloading a good mod launcher like Feed The Beast (FTB) as it's quick and easy to set up (no messing around manually installing mods one by one) and comes...

    Zoom out lens (newbie question)

    Favourite cereal?

Crunchy Nut Clusters are the f'n bomb. I can also vouch highly for Lidl's Nougat Pillows. Similar in a way to Crave, but bigger pieces and much nicer in my opinion.

How do you all make your Cheese on toast?

Pre grill bread lightly (just so it starts to firm up, not change colour). Grate cheese into bowl (i like a mix of cheddar and red leicester), add 1 whole whisked egg and mix. Generous splash of worcestesterestershire sauce and stick it under the grill. Good season of black pepper and serve.

Spec me a good keyboard please?

I would agree that either full size or TKL is the only way to go. I switched to a 65% at home but much prefer the TKL I use at work. Number pad doesn't affect me much, perticiularly at home, but dedicated space for arrow keys, and a f row is a must.

Spec me a stand for two monitors

Ouch that sucks. in that case if you're still after an arm then most Amazon options should do the trick (I can recommend Duronic).

    Window install, paying 50% upfront?

50% is not the norm for installations. Perhaps a 20-25% can be expected, particularly if the company is very budy and deals with a lot of trye kickers, or if their initial outlay on product is particularly high, but 50% would be a bit of a warning sign for me.

Spec me a drill/impact driver combo

Dewalt twin pack is excellent, can't rate it highly enough. I got mine for aroun £160 I think a couple of years ago, though I beilieve this was a particularly good offer.

    Who owns a Golf GTD / GTI / R?

Yeah I'm curious to know how the lack of buttons works out in real life - I feel like it's a deal breaker for me.
