    EV general discussion

After nearly a month of public charging, finally charging at home. Combination of Andersen charger and kerbo charge pavement gully (installed by local authority). A lot of setup but definitely happy with the result now it's all in place.

Recommendations for an EV charger for home??

Anderson actually worked out cheaper for me than many of the competitors, as their inclusive installation offer is more generous (it's about 14m from fuse board to charger), which was within andersons' 15m but outside of most of the others 10m distance and the additional installation costs...

Best place to get rid of a car you wouldn't sell, but technically runs?

try webuyany car or motorway, or trade it in if you're after a new car. Worry about the total cost to change rather than explicitly what you get offered for the old car.

Not quite, the wrong choices were made post war, the countries that were successful, even those that ran state owned industries, did so because they embraced and ran things on a commercial basis. The UK went for politically run nationalisation of key industries, run by politics rather than...

and of those, we exported approx 600k last year. (source) Getting into an automotive trade war based on tariffs is an exceptionally bad idea.

It will be, they do the same with ICE cars that need significant engine work at 3-4 years old. It's a combination of cost of repair and risk of ongoing issues versus the cost to simply cut their losses and start again.

Worth a check to see if the local council is doing any of the funded gully trials.

NatWest new card details already known by website

Nothing sinister, it's the automatic update process provided by visa/mastercard etc. https://www.bizbot.com/blog/how-account-updaters-reduce-payment-failures/ Has been in place for a couple of years now. Not all companies subscribe, but many such as amazon etc do.

    Championship/EFL Thread 23/24

I'm having a year 2000 flashback, I spent summer 2000 working for Ipswich Town dealing with season tickets while home from University the last time they got promoted. Great to see them back up again, hope it's a 2000-2001, not a 2001-2002 year next year.

Excel wizards needed again - comparing data on multiple columns

Does the cell only contain the keyword, or does it contain the keyword plus some other data? Excel functions generally operate on the cell, so if the cell contains "Apple Maybe Water" and you use match to find "Apple", it won't find it unless you do other manipulation first (either in cells or...

O2 - anyone else just had notice of a 17.8% increase

The irony being the entire current implementation of mid term price rises was mandated by regulation. Massive backfire.

    NHS=Negligent Health Service

Indeed, made worse by the abject incompetence of the local 'livewell' group who seem to get everything by default despite their consistent failures.

Where are you getting your Turkeys?

Got a Turkey butterfly and Beef box coming from Musclefood, had similar in previous years and recommended if you're a fan of lean meats. https://www.musclefood.com/christmas

Are we starting to see the wage increase vs inflation increase death spiral?

Apart from it didn't. https://equalitytrust.org.uk/how-has-inequality-changed']https://equalitytrust.org.uk/how-has-inequality-changed Your argument is good without needing to resort to dishonesty to support it.

    Amazon Healthcare

Because the study being quoted is nonsense most likely, which is why it's a random table rather than a properly referenced study. I suspect it's the king's fund study that didn't control for care outcomes when it declared the UK the best healthcare system in the world by making out of pocket...

What to do about company I work for?

It's absolutely an employee's job market out there at the moment, I agree with those who say find another job (but stay employed while you do it).

Can anyone explain this? 5G signal in non 5G area

Likely one mast locally has been activated. For an area to be declared 5G available, it has to cover a certain percentage of the population there.
