i can vouch for the power of FOMO.. i was refreshing like mad when the orginal deck came out got my order in when it arrived used it sparingly.. now here we are again :cry: but tbh i plan to use this one a lot more the orginal screen did put me off abit and things in my life are different now

thats normal steamdeck and some laptops do the same thing its called battery storage mode

thats key you need to change your usage OLED needs TLC you cant just use it however you want and Linus should know this ive totally changed the way i use my desktop with the oled and nearly 2 months in no signs of any issues desktop icons hidden, 3rd party dock that autohides, taskbar...

thats why i said install chrome RD or Anydesk i advised against using the smart plug just i saw it mentioned before in the thread maybe i should have worded it better

enable wake on lan in the bios and get a wake on lan app for you phone install chrome remote desktop, anydesk or something to shut it down you can use a smart plug to cut power when you want to switch it off but that will mean it wont shut down cleanly you could also try messing with sleep...
