    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

It's the fps constantly going up and down multiple times a second which is why limiting the FPS on a game by game basis to an FPS you can maintain 90% of the time virtually eliminates VRR flicker

They're not certified in the drivers yet, maybe once that happens things will change. TBH it doesn't affect me because I limit the frame rate of all my games to just under the average frame rate I can achieve. This way the frame rate isn't going all over the place so there is no VRR flicker...

Upgrading 4090 to 5090 - minimising upgrade cost.

And you can't see the difference from 10bit to 8bit with dithering In fact, people have done blind tests and the majority of people say the 8bit with dithering looks better. Noticeably less banding

is there a reason my tv looks like it has a layer of grease on it amd gpu

Make sure HDMI UHD Color is switched on in the TV settings for the HDMI port you are using. It's off by default and you'll be able to enable each port individually. I can't remember where in the settings the option is

Upgrading 4090 to 5090 - minimising upgrade cost.

Buy 5090 Wait for the flood of 2nd hand 4090s to dry up and stock of the 5000 series to be limited Sell 4090 It's not like it was 10 years ago where you could sell your old one for 80% of the cost of the new one just 2 weeks beforehand. Stock is more limited and prices have larger swings so...

    12VHPWR already obsolete

The only physical difference on the GPU side is shorter sense pins so it'll work with the old cables and the new cables

    Twisted Metal

I really enjoyed this and can't wait for Season 2 Much better than it deserves to be imo Don't get me wrong, it's not some awe-inspiring profound TV series that sets a new bar or anything, but it's a good watch and brings lots of LOLs :D

    Blackwell gpus

AMD haven't been there for multiple generations. Plus if they were it would make no difference, Nvidia pricing high just gives AMD a reason to also price high.

The Greatest GPU of all time

9800 Pro 8800 GT 980TI 1080TI 3080 (launch price) These are what I would consider the best hi end cards as they all allowed you to skip the next generation without much sacrifice 9800pro was amazing and you could easily flash it to XT if you wished 8800 GT was very close to the performance of...

Yea big swings will cause flicker. Best to limit frame rate on a game by game basis to a level which keeps things smooth without these massive variations. Only remove the limit on games where you'll max out the refresh rate 99% of the time

    P850GM Gigabyte & 4070ti Sup

You should never do that. You've been lucky this time, but those cables can be different for every brand and every generation of PSU. You could have fried your whole system
