Want to move away from ISP supplied routers for Ultrafast.

I have been thinking about this, and I could raise the budget to around 300 for a router. As I mentioned earlier, I hadn't considered that with fttp being installed, I have a potentially easy opportunity to relocate the router to the first floor, increasing coverage around the house. Where I...

Want to move away from ISP supplied routers for Ultrafast.

Thank you both for coming back to me with this. I might do some research into the pfsence option (if it's not too complex). Good point about getting the ONT placed in the middle of the home. For some reason I was thinking it would need to come in near where the old test socket was located.

Want to move away from ISP supplied routers for Ultrafast.

Hey, Openreach have finally activated my exchange, and full fibre has become available. I'm currently trying to choose between EE/BT/ZEN for their 900 Mb packages, but my girlfriend and myself have decided we'd like to use our own router for a performance boost. We live in a 4-bed semi, floor...

Please help me spec a Home Theatre system for up to 2.5k

Hi all, I'd like to upgrade from my LG SK9Y soundbar (for reference this is the most I had ever previously spent on home audio, and in general I've been pretty happy with the sound), but I'd like to get my first ever system with separate speakers, and an AVR. My girlfriend and I have quite a...

    Mattresses - I need knowledge

Thank you, so is it perhaps not as important to spend as much on the frame? I'm thinking to try a wool duvet and pillows, as I always sleep fairly warm. I think it may all take a while to get used to, but I'm hoping the investment pays off over time.

    Mattresses - I need knowledge

Thanks to this thread, I'm in the process of getting one of the JR Mattresses. I'm going for an Artisan Naturals Superking zip link. I actually spoke to them twice today; the first chap I spoke to mentioned there was a price increase - at the time, we were talking about a firmer feel Artisan...

    Hardtail for a first timer.

Hi all, Having wanted a bike for years but never getting round to it I've finally decided to give cyclescheme a go. I work quite a way from home so not fussed on a road bike and I would quite like to try some cross country riding and beginner trails. As such a hardtail seems a good option to...

    Amazon Prime v Netflix

I just really find the prime app on my tv unintuitive so I don't see loads of the content.

    Competency Writing

Thank you. I have already submitted the competencies now, this vacancy is within HMRC and has had a much quicker turnaround time than most civil service jobs I had previously seen. I was very aggressive in editing my competencies down, typically I have spent far too much time scene setting but...

    Virgin TV issue

I used an RG59 cable with shielding from a popular internet retailer. Cost about £5.99 for a 5m cable and works perfectly.

Worried about my brother and money

I don't really think you should get involved. From what you say he pays keep, it's not market rental rates but what parent would charge their child market bloody rates to let them stay at their house? People talk about it eating into your inheritance but unless I'm mistaken he is paying some...

    Competency Writing

Hah inconsistencies with grading is worrying but then who knows. I've been successful at eo sifts previously so hopefully I'm not too awful. Will just have to see how it goes now. Thanks

    Competency Writing

Hi all, I'm currently applying for a HEO position within the civil service. I'm writing my competencies up and I'm using the STAR method as best I can but I was wondering if there were any competency writing pros out there who had any tips/could have a look over my competencies for me and...

    *** Sky Q Thread ***

Hi all, Is there any way to see what your silver box is downloading at? I've had it installed this morning wirelessly to a superhub 3 with 200mb downloads. I'm running my laptop in the same room which is getting speedtest and download results of approx 200 meg but UHD downloads seem...

    Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Hi all, Hopefully a quick question. I've just downgraded my virgin package as I've switched to sky q but kept virgin broadband and phone line. As I've got the tv package for free I decided to keep hold of the tivo box but the ideal would be to move it into another room. Previously the tivo and...

    *** Sky Q Thread ***

I'm having this installed on Wednesday so just a few questions: Will they be likely to replace the disconnected sky dish that's about 8 years old or will they just reconnect it? After Virgin Media offered to give me the phone line and 200mb bb for 30 quid a month I've decided to keep them...

    *** Sky Q Thread ***

This is probably a dumbass question but I am about t sign up and I want to know where to put the main box (The 4k tv is in my room but my mum does most of the recording) is there any way to set a record from the mini box (as in order the main box to record) and then to access those recordings...
