    Massive Car insurance costs?

For me that would depend entirely on the obligations placed on me by the insurance company regarding the dashcam footage. If they only needed it, and could only request it, in the event of a claim then I would. If they could demand any recordings at all, at any time, then no.

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Probably not, but you will likely need a BIOS update.

    Blackwell gpus

Nvidia can make the 5090 15-20% faster than a 4090 and price is close to £2k, and a 5080 within 5% of the 4090 and price it around 4080S pricing and people will still gobble them up.

    Massive Car insurance costs?

Wife's RR Evoque went from ~£450 to £900!!!! Shopped around, couldn't find cheaper :( Sold it. Bought a newer G31 530d and it's cheaper to insure (though not by much). My M3 went from £750 to £900 :( :( :(

Nice BMW to get back into Crowe! :) Welcome (back) to the club!

Agreed...dGPU is still profitable for Nvidia, and the price of the 5090 is likely to be sky-high, and people will still buy it.

    Ryzen 5 7600 - 6 core & 12 threads so what's the 12 "cores" shown in MSI Afterburner?

I think AMD chips only have a single temperature reference so it's just a CPU temperature rather than a per core temperature. MSI Afterburner is reporting the 12 logical cores (6 physical cores capable of running 2 simultaneous threads)

GPU Prices Suck. This Is What They SHOULD Have Cost

The thing that I find MOST surprising about current GPU prices is how they've remained so stubbornly high. They shot up during the crypto mining boom and have barely settled back ever since!

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Will getting hold of Zen 5 CPUs be the new supply bottle-neck after the mining-led GPU shortages? https://www.techspot.com/news/102252-crypto-miners-buying-up-all-amd-ryzen-cpus.html (also has some production dates for Zen 5 in the article)

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Possibly even less than 1%...the RTX4090 can clearly max out the available bandwidth of PCIe x16 3.0, but it's barely holding the performance back. Given that PCIe x16 4.0 is double the bandwidth of 3.0 I'd wager that moving to PCIe 5.0 will make no difference at all, at least with this...

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Depends if the +40% IPC turns out to be true I'd guess. I would think over a 7800X3D/7950X3D probably not, but over anything previous generation, possibly yes.

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

At least CPU launches are getting sort of exciting, unlike GPUs! I might go for a Zen5 CPU in place of my 12600K if these "leaked" numbers turn out anywhere close to true.

*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

I'm still pleased I bought my 7900XT all those months ago for £700 with free Starfield! Hopefully the following gen (AMD 9xxx, nVidia 6xxx) will get more interesting.

CPU Cooling - best option to aid GPU cooling (or at least not make it worse)?

Yeah, I would move your top exhaust to the front and use it as intake to start with. That way you'll encourage front to back airflow in the case, and have 2x the intake vs exhaust.

CPU Cooling - best option to aid GPU cooling (or at least not make it worse)?

I agree with mickyflinn's solution. I think part of your problem is the current intake/exhaust config. As a general rule of thumb, more intake vs less exhaust provides a better cooling solution. Many of today's best performing cases for cooling have only intake fans. This also creates...

When do you know your CPU is throttling your system?

FYI I went from 4770K @ 4.5GHz to 12600K @ 5.1GHz with a 2070S, and saw almost double max FPS in some titles just from CPU change. I can imagine with a 4070 you're losing even more than I was!

GPU having black flicking lines on screen Help

Could be something as simple as an iffy cable. I sometimes get black lines towards the bottom of my screen due to my HDMI cable being bent to 90 degrees over a short radius, and fiddling with it resolves the issue.

New case options - opinions/feedback please

Excellent...as you say, you're well placed to comment. I think that finally settles me on the Torrent!

New case options - opinions/feedback please

Interesting looking case. One of the appeals of the Fractal case though, is its use of 180mm & 140mm fans where the above has 140mm & 120mm fans. The bigger fans can move a lot of air whilst spinning slowly (and therefore quietly).
