Well, now I have a X7 DT v6-CF1 making its way to me. My current rig has a Radeon 6950 (bought over 5 years ago) so should be quite an upgrade.

We've been experiencing similar network drops where disabling/enabling the ports at either the switch or NIC fixes issues. You may want to keep an eye on this
