    Wireless bridge recommendations

Hi guys, Just after a recommendation/feedback regarding the following; Had sky installed at the beginning of the week. The house already has the first floor cabled for network, so to put the sky hub upstairs makes everything easy. However, this then leaves no connectivity downstairs, only...

Sky broadband & asus rt-n66u help please

Humph, having problems today in that my housemates laptop refuses to connect to the wireless. For reference, accessing the NAS and using logmein remotely from another network and over 3G was absolutely fine. Worked just as it did before changing things around. So, this is what I had Sky...

Sky broadband & asus rt-n66u help please

So far, so good. Haven't tested logmein or remote access to my nas as yet. Having issues with the asus firmware though. Watching Netflix on my Apple TV, logged onto router with my iPad and the only connected device on the list is my tv!?!? All devices have been assigned an IP address for the...

Sky broadband & asus rt-n66u help please

I was having problems accessing my nas with that setup. Thinking got to the bottom of that though as I had assigned a static ip on the 192.168.0.xx subnet. The nas is now set to obtain address automatically. I'll give it another go tomorrow so that I don't interrupt wi-if or Internet for my...

Sky broadband & asus rt-n66u help please

So, I need to set the ip of the sagem to 192.168.0.xx Leaving the asus to issue IP addresses on 192.168.1.xx subnet? Would I still be able to access both devices by use of web GUI? EDIT: will I also need to disable wireless on the sky router, or can I set the asus to broadcast the same SSID as...

Sky broadband & asus rt-n66u help please

I currently have the sky sagem f@st2304, wireless g, modem router which is okay at best. I have also been using an asus rt-n66u with dd-wrt as a wireless bridge. Connecting to the sky router via wireless and allowing devices to connect by cable. This has all been working fine. Made the...

    Extending wifi and Lan.

The asus router could be flashed with dd-wrt firmware. This has the option of running the router as a repeater bridge. The repeater side extends the wifi range, and the bridge also adds the LAN connectivity. This would have no additional outlay in cost.

    Wireless router for bridging

Okay, so I bought the Asus rt-n66u...after a rather nerveracking few hours I have successfully flashed it with the DD-WRT firmware. All set up in client bridge mode, works a charm! Only (slight) problem is that the 5ghz radio isnt working since the firmware update. EDIT; Found a setting for...

    Wireless router for bridging

Right, so my understanding of that is; It doesnt matter what wireless modem is currently installed and being used to access the Internet. As long as I buy a router which can work with the dd-wrt gubbins it's all good. If the 'new' router (that I purchase) is operating as a client, does this...

    Internet problems/Network switch

Router is now plugged into the master socket. The O2 guy has me taking all the sockets apart to identify which is which! Ended up with the main BT line into the house wires breaking (they were brittle?!) and having to re-wire the socket. Anyway, the secondary point that is fitted seems to be...
