I either invest in a signal converter from Startech (HDMI® or DVI to DisplayPort® Active Converter) or I upgrade my SLI 460GTX's to something with the same beef & displayport output... Question is, is the converter which can be had for ~£60 if you shop around + second hand cost of 2x GTX...

Hi guys, Finally decided to upgrade my first gen Hazro 24" to dwell in the 120Hz world. Unfortunately my 2x 460's in SLI only have mini HDMI and DVI-D outputs. I've hooked the monitor up HDMI to mini-HDMI and HDMI to DVI-D (with a HDMI cable and suitable adaptors) and it works fine but...

Somewhat dissappointing indeed. I'm going to hook them up to my spare Lian-Li fan throttler on the backplate. Might try swapping over the chassis fans over to the cpu fans, though I pressume the feedback loop is controlled by mobo temp for the chassis fans.

Ok boys, just got back from work, was a long day. PC still happily running Prime at 4.5GHz, thats 16 hours, satisfies my stability quibble. :) Definitely agree on Speedstep, Turbo ratio and DRAM speeds not working right! Hopefully BIOS will sort that.

Just a quick update to report my stability issues seem to be resolved. It appears my problem is associated with memory compatibility on the board. Even though it is on the QVL, it isn't supported, certainly not at the full speed. See my post 31 in this other thread...

Good to know. Hopefully system will still be running when I get home. If so, can conclude that CPU is ok and it is a memory compatibility issue. Now I know we are barking up the right tree, I will focus my investigations on memtests at different speeds, timings and voltages. Certainly RAM...

Unlikely I think. This adds the option for internal PLL over voltage and is disabled by default. It's to help in extreme overclocking. In all my testing the 1053 bios has been the most stable.

Gibbo, running at 1600MHz, 9 9 9 28 and fixed Turbo ratio at x38, seems to be running ok at the mo, will leave it running over night. On this basis, what is the fastest memory that works?
