Ok, for the coming winter do I just need to call Octopus and tell them I have solar so they can enable export on my account? I'm currently on the octopus standard.
10.5kwh solar + 10kwh battery all solaredge.
daily usage is about 22kwh
I think to keep things simple I will just try the standard 15p export tariff. Do I just need to call Octopus once our array is up and running?
Finally should be getting my solar+battery installed this week after the dno taking over 3 months to approve my g99. We are currently on Octpus standard variable - which tariff should I ask to move onto once my solar is up and running?
We would like to make you aware that your application will likely attract Connection Offer Expenses (COE). Whilst GTC do not charge up front for connection offers, we have had to apply for additional load from a DNO who does and we will pass these costs on to you regardless of whether you choose...
Hit a problem, my DNO won't pass this as we live on a private estate and there will be extra charges involved as they have to 'upgrade infrastructure'.
I might need to do a G98 system, anyone advise on my options please? Can I have a 5Kwh GivEnery inverter for G98 and only export 3.68?
I can't...
Btw I went for the Solar Skirt thingy for pigeon protection. Is that good or are there any downsides apart from the cost? I read somewhere about raising temps due to reduced airflow
just read up on Flux - wow thanks for that.
Anyone know if the SolarEdge system can be set to charge the battery overnight on cheap rate so the inverter can export as much as possible during the day?
Thanks, would the SolarEdge kit still be better if the GivEnergy inverter was bigger? I get the feeling SolarEdge is more premium than GivEnergy and the standard warranties are double with SolarEdge.
