Planning on doing a fresh install, awaiting on a USBC converter to come so I can use one of the many memory sticks I have floating about.

Is this normal? (macOS Big Sur update)

Its the whole thing. so going from MoJave to Big Sur. It's finally installed. I left it run over night and when I checked on it in the garage this morning found the installation was complete. The only thing I can think was that it's previous owners never did any kind of updates at all which is...

Is this normal? (macOS Big Sur update)

I'm sort of a new Mac user. I was given by a family friend a 2019 13 inch MacBook Pro as a gift. Its a lovely little machine and the keyboard is a joy to type on. However that's not why I'm posting, what I'm trying to find out is if its normal for it to take almost a day to install the latest...

Does anyone here play games on Linux?

I am considering it. Getting really wound up with Windows and the way it changes your settings after every Windows update.

    Soundbars

Not my TV, belongs to my house mate who bought the soundbar today. He liked the Samsung that was recommended above. Spent ages this afternoon setting it all up. Happy as a dog with two tails he is. Thanks all for the advice much appreciated :)

    Soundbars

This is the actual TV he has - http://www.lg.com/uk/support/support-product/lg-50PG3000 I've looked through the manual and it has optical out and by the looks of it has phono out too. I was thinking the best way to connect would be optical out to the soundbar that has optical in. He was...

    Soundbars

Not something these days I'm very clued up on. However my house mate has asked to help him improve the sound quality on the TV. If it had a headphone socket I'd be saying hook up the PC speakers to that, but alas it has no such socket. My first thought was indeed a soundbar as that's pretty...

Really can't wait tp have it all built up and running. Whilst my current PC isn't bad, its showing its age in lots of games I want to play. Suspect this is going to be quite the step up from the FX6300 build I'm running currently.

Consumers have paid too much for electricity and gas transmission and distribution

Totally agree with you. I work for a well known advice organisation (well not for much longer) and I work the energy line. Its clear to me there are no savings to be had by switching - in some cases people are best off staying put.

Energy prices are not regulated. If you regulate prices then you have no competition in the market.

The OcUK Relationship Counselling and Hugs Thread

Or as my Dad would call it marry in haste, repent at leisure. I've done it twice - I'm not doing it again - ever. I really think I need to be with my next partner whenever and whoever that happens to be for at least a year before I consider moving in with them.

    Work Toilets

What a lovely chap ! He wouldn't be allowed to come to my house ever again. Totally agree with you, but sadly life isn't fair sometimes. I can think of toilets far worse and rancid than work ones - secondary school toilets. No bog roll on the holder, its all on the ceiling along with the...

    Work Toilets

I think at work some (not all) see it as well the cleaners will clean it so they don't have to. They take the "not my problem" attitude. You go into their home however different story they'd be soon moaning about skid marks on the pan or if someone had done their number ones on the floor.
