I can't believe im seeing someone trying to OC 8GB of ram on a desktop board, half the boards out there will not even run 8GB due to MCH load never mind over clocking it.
If you want a stable system consider running 8GB at 667 speeds or a little higher and push the timings down and go the low...
Im am sorry but thats not correct, the plat rev2's have no issues with the DFI 975 at all, what could be the issue is one of the modules may have a fault or the board its self is faulty but to say they are not compatible is not true at all...the board is fully qualified for all OCZ DDR2 modules...
I was not trying to prove anything with that screen shot except for the fact that as you get closer to the cards they tend to be louder, also getting the point across that the cards and sound levels are real in this particular instance. ;)
The majority of people I am around actually have...
I already had a message about the quality of the picture and maybe the cards are fake. Here is a clean shot but from about 5" away, as you can tell, they get louder. :D

This was a quick shot at nine inches away, hand held instead of on the tripod used for the original testing, just to give a rough idea of the noise levels while running a Company of Heroes test. The CPU is passively cooled during the test with only a 22dBA 120mm Sanyo fan running above...
I measured at 12" for those results on an open test bed, room dBA was at 27. I will list comparisons against other cards later tonight but the fact remains that the RD600 is not a quiet card as originally stated in this post. Also, I will provide a couple of results in a closed case but...
Here are my issues with the OP -
1. These cards are not quiet, even in a case with several fans, once the RD600 cards spin up (Solitaire will do it by the way) they are loud. I have been testing the cards since March so here are the CrossFire Results with the original ATI OEM samples and...
I thought the PLUS was 650I and 570i, if this is the case we should have a board that does 16 x 8 x 16 over the 2 chipsets for unofficial SLI and have none of the SATA issues we see with the i680 chipset.
Does Asus ship an SLI bridge with this board?
On badaxe 1333 strap forces 667 mode on the memory to 1:1, CPU-Z reads it wrong. It also relaxes internal latency on the chipset to the point most micron or elpida dimms will do 1100+ very easy even with tigher timings.
AM2 is a better platform to test DDR2 while we wait for RD600 which has...

Added some more to the guide, also added some ddr600 settings im priming now at 300x9 on a 165opty.
boards a pain to tweak but is real fast...stick with it guys ;)
NB voltage needs to be 1.5V, set the P and N to 31, set PCIE voltage to 1.85 and reduce the multi on your CPU to 9 and i bet you hit 300LDT.
I have 6 RD580 boards here now and ALL do 300x5 with the right tweaks ;) but i agree 4x is just as good and easier to use as it needs a lot less voltage.
Guys
Work in progress but a tweak guide is half way completed, http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20506
300x5LDT is easy, 300 1:1 is quite easy, 2gig kits are awesome and video benching is great too...you only need the tweaks and this board has serious grunt.
PCIE...
guys
Flash the latest bios off the DFI site, just download the EXE version as that is the new bios.
next add an /e switch to the flash commands in the autoexec file so that awdflash returns you to ther A prompt, it will give you a warning message about wrong file maybe...just ignore this...
Well I have the the asus, and i can not clock anywhere near what i saw in many reviews, i will probably end up with the abit also but going by the last Abit NF4 boards i had they did 280 or so but not the 300+ i see on my DFI's.
If you want to tweak, and have all the options the memory...
You guys need to relalise boards are not cheap to make, new chipsets are always expensive and when a board has as many fetures as the DFI does you will see that a huge amount of RnD has been put into it.
Prices will come down thats guranteed but you have to remember DFI has to claw back RnD...
Hi Andyr,
You seem to be a very lucky dude. That seems to be the only board in the whole world at the moment.
That is the newest RD580 Chipset from ATI and I think there are plenty of us that would like to see some benchmarks from it.
Do you have Sandra installed? Could post a screenie...
