If your modem has just the USB for outside world then forget all about the router thing. There is no router with USB input. I'm afraid ICS is your only choice. With or without wireless.

A little old, but probably one of the best for Photoshop -- the Samsung 910N 19" PVA. Amazing black levels, much much better than anything i've seen lately. The only downside is the response time (rated 25ms). Ghosting, trailing, smearing is omnipresent, but for photo editing i don't think it...

If the backlight is ok and all the pixels are in good health, trust me, it's not worth the risk of getting a replacement. You will eventually scratch it all over the place. It's a native downside of all the glossy screens.

I'd go for the 24 incher. An inch @ 1920x1200 makes a big impact on text readability. I'd say 25 or 26" would make best fit for 1920x1200.

Nop, that's permanent damage. Very likely caused by pressure applied to those points. Do they look like dark spots?

Maybe i didn't make myself clear, i'm talking about the color controls on the monitor not videocard.

Seems a bit strange that you find the 2405FPW too bright. Have you tried reducing color levels to 20-30 ? It has a great impact on brightness. The colors still look great at those levels.

Oh, i'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it will be forever there. You could get used to it, thus the `fade away`.

or you could just do an #export VISUAL=<path to your editor of choice> and run crontab -e in style :)
