I'm not actually the pleb that everyone now seems to think I am. I probably didn't explain myself properly and I don't intend on wreaking havoc over my town, maiming people whilst sitting having a cup of tea in my kitchen.
But anyway, let the bandwagon roll. ;)
Thanks for the diagram, BT I'm not going to bother reading the rest of it. Me asking, then stating I wouldn't actually do it doesn't warrant your tone. Blowing up a UBEC and then asking for helping doesn't mean I'm a total retard and cannot function in life, thank you very much.
I'll exit...
Yeah, I know it's dodgy, I'll be very careful. It's not exactly cheap. I won't be doing that.
Anyone familiar with the Multiwii Pro? I've built the frame, got the motors on, mounted the ESC's to the frames, I just need to connect the ESCs to the MultiWii pro, but I have no idea where to...
What shop could I buy 3.5mm male and female bullet connectors from?
EDIT:
How the hell have I just blown up a UBEC? I'm feeding it a 3S Lipo 11.v, and then it's just exploded and shot itself across the room. What is that about? Positive and negative in, then a little servo cable out for the...
Get a multicopter. Dooooo eeeeeeeet. :p I'm watching a video of a guy doing a tutorial on the MultiWii flight controller and getting ridiculously excited.
Has anyone tried Flying their multicopter via gps waypoints, just sending it off and praying that it comes back? Tempted to set it up to...
I don't think you can do anything about that mate. I ordered all my kit from the UK warehouse, I know that's not always possible, but it means it comes quickly and you don't get stung along the way.
Anyone else have the idea of sticking an antenna on the roof of their house, flying the multi...
That's very cool. I'd be happy if I can get anything remotely like that!
I want to get a USB or Bluetooth FTDI board so I can connect my MultiWii flight controller to my PC, so I can have fun with waypoints whilst I wait for my FPV gear to arrive.
Any idea where I could get that on a Saturday...
Yeah it looks to be a bit of a bargain considering I almost spent £250 on a 3 axis one yesterday, the 3rd axis I probably won't immediately notice.
What do I do about 'landing gear' for my hexacopter? Are all the mounting points on the underside of frame kits standard?
Just ordered one of these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281280053608
DJI Phantom Gopro 2 3 CNC Metal Brushless Camera Gimbal w/ Motors & Controller S
Only two axis, but for $54/£35 delivered, it really isn't bad at all. Video of turning the thing on:
It's not in action, but all it needs is a...
What about 3-axis gimbals/controllers on the cheap for GoPro/similar? Anyone recommend anything in that regard?
This is ideally what I want, maybe just go for the controller and order the gimbal?
Yeah, I've had no problems in ordering it all from the same place. Click the warehouse, select UK, then it automatically filters only items available from the UK. If you try and add anything else, it brings up an error saying you can't mix warehouses.
I've ordered all the gubbins for my...
Wassat Lisapete? Check other places for cheaper stuff?
Oh you mean UK or International Warehouse? Getting everything through the UK warehouse, can't be bothered with 3 month waits...
What about this setup?
Not sure about the Lawmate, I don't think it's legal in this country is it? It's tempting due to the ridiculous range it offers.
What would you guys recommend for a quadcopter or hexacopter setup for FPV? Wondering about hexacopter, if it'll be needed for a GoPro FPV setup, as it'll mean 50% more on ESC's and motors. What do you reckon?
What frames do you guys recommend for that?
I can't quite decide which way to go getting back into this. Big plane with FPV kit, or a multicopter with FPV kit.
Obviously this is the multicopter thread, but what made you guys get into multicopters? Racing, being able to do it in smaller spaces, that kinda stuff?
