never personally had a gfx card die on me, but ive seen quite a lot of new stuff die, my mates pci-e 6600gt died after about 4 weeks, though that could have been down to heat as that was in a shuttle. still got my Asus x800pro flashed to xt pe @ x850 xt speeds that i bought on launch day, still...

i wouldnt bother upgrading at all with that rig :o, dont really see the point... wait it out till vista comes, and get a direct x 10 card, and a monster of a cpu, or if you really want to spend some cash, stick a vapochill on that cpu :p edit, just re-read and saw your giving the rig away...

as far as i know the x800 pro is faster then the x800gto by a fair bit so i would say yes.

yep they do, but i would go against buying them, very cheap and flimsy, and break very easy, maybe get the sennheiser 150 instead?
