I did that on my C9 about a day after purchase, still had the panel replaced under warranty. Got a shortcut key on my harmony remote.

Good for you. Probably have a 5 year warranty, probably have the panel replaced for nowt. Probably get another 5 years out of it. Could request in house replacement, takes about 30mins. What's 2k on a TV that's only 3ish years old.
