    Just done some more digging. Pricing of sold cards on the Bay is nuts. I could sell my 4090 and get a 3090 and have £1000 in my hand pretty much... bonkers

    You would be surprised at what can be recovered, if you're willing to spend the money, even to the point of putting the platters form the HDD in a new mechanism and reading from that. Very expensive as has to be done in a clean room. Agree with Recuva as a good tool if it's for your cards

    Ah - OK so the HDD is goosed and you're trying to recover form the cards. Worth a shot even if some have been overwritten you might get some back

    Oops If Seagate can't do it I think you might be struggling Maybe try some software that offers a free trial which would generally limit the amount of files you can recover and/or the recovery method but would give you an idea if it can find anything and what the conditions of the files are
