20mph residential speed limit (replacing 30mph)

If or when England reduces the alcohol limit will people ignore that based on what feels sensible?

20mph residential speed limit (replacing 30mph)

The post I replied to initially was regarding London. I think that fits the definition of urban. :) If people are tempted to mess with phones etc. that's - again - a driver behaviour problem. It's the same behaviour that prompted lower speed limits in the first place because the consequences of...

20mph residential speed limit (replacing 30mph)

So it's not the speed limit that's unsafe, but driver's behaviour. How can driving in an urban environment be so monotonous that people are switching off?

20mph residential speed limit (replacing 30mph)

How on earth can a 20 mph speed limit make things *less* safe?

    Your bad driving encounters

It's a completely impractical suggestion for many reasons. Rural cycle lanes are frequently terrible surfaces and overgrown, totally unsuitable for *road* bikes. In urban areas where things might be better, if you're not familiar with the infrastructure it's often difficult to know where to...

20mph residential speed limit (replacing 30mph)

The lack of self awareness to openly admit you're not in proper control of your car is astonishing. Either swap it for something you can drive or consider whether you're actually fit to. What happens if the person you're behind is driving at 20? I can just imagine the concentration it must take...

    Bst should be kept permanently.

You've got that the wrong way round. Keeping BST would make it darker on winter mornings, it's the change back to GMT which makes them lighter.

    Bst should be kept permanently.

Curious to know what he might mean by "as it was". The UK has done daylight savings since the first world war, over a hundred years ago. The only changes I'm aware of were the second world war and a brief experiment between 1968 and 71.

    Bst should be kept permanently.

I'd keep the changes but go for GMT+1 in winter and GMT+2 in summer. Sunrise before 5am at any time of the year is completely pointless. Am aware of the implications for people in the north, but having lived in Glasgow for six years I also appreciated the significantly longer summer evenings.

Looks like a Stream Deck but with stickers rather than OLEDs, fewer buttons overall and yet more expensive. What am I missing?

    ***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Ordered on the 22nd but heard nothing until an email just now saying it's delayed due to number of orders. It's 'being prepared' and I can't cancel now, but still no suggestion of an ETA. Bit annoying but hopefully it'll show up early next week.

It can get a bit spendy but button boxes usually have very distinctive controls that makes using them in VR pretty easy.

"Right of way" in the context people use it doesn't even exist, at least not in the UK. The correct term is 'priority', but that clearly doesn't convey the same sense of superiority. Highway Code: "The rules in The Highway Code do not give you the right of way in any circumstance, but they do...

Connecting a Google Chromecast to your PC, to output sound to your PC speakers - help

I reckon the only way to know that would be to try it. Logically I don't see any issue, but the way these things interact with each other can be a bit of a mystery.

Connecting a Google Chromecast to your PC, to output sound to your PC speakers - help

Sounds like an HDMI audio splitter is what you need. Connect the Chromecast to the monitor via that and the audio to the PC.
