What you need to realise is most resellers have not re-purchased product at new much higher prices or have been able to blend/average their old stocks with new much higher cost stocks and thus most resellers are still selling products below the actual wholesale cost. So to answer your question...

They are either trying to kick in FOMO or have simply taken too much stock onboard and depleted their cashflow reserves which means they need to sell and be paid for what they taken onboard. I'd be confident in their offers been back over £4000 again in near future.
