There have been a few issues with the 3000 Series. Mine just wouldn't post unless I switched to PCIE3 and even then was getting intermittent CTDs. Others have had their PCIE speeds significantly reduced.
Also my SSDs are on the same Lane which seemed a waste to drop to PCIE3
Ok.. Tried the Sandstrom 4k Ultra 3m cable today. Slightly better but still getting flickering at 4K 120Hz with and without Gsync.
That 4 cables tested now. I'm wondering if this update has quite fixed the issue on the TV side.
Has anyone successfully managed 4k 120Hz with no flickering?
Just a heads up, the TrueHQ HDMI 2.1 Cable from Amazon also doesn't work with GSync and anything over 60Hz and 10 Bit
Going to try the Sandstrom from the curry house. I'd have gone with Belkin but they don't have it in stock locally
Apparently so although it's going to be cable dependant. I'm still getting it with my current cable at 4k/120hz. Have a new cable coming tomorrow to test.
I've taken a punt on the TrueHQ HDMI 2.1 cable which arrives tomorrow and see if it copes with 4k 120 & Gsync.
If not, the local takeaway place has SANDSTROM Gold Series S3HDM419 in stock but it's an eye watering £50. The belkin are comparatively priced to.
Thats why I'm asking, Amazon is flooded with crap and struggling to find one without having a new one ripped. If I've got to pay £50 for one, so be it but was hoping for a cheaper alternative.
What cable do you recommend? I've just upgraded my E9 with the latest firmware and whilst the picture has improved, I still get a bit of flickering at 4k 60hz and it's unusable at 120Hz.
I picked this 3m cable up a few weeks ago thinking it should be ok...
Hey, just checked my serial number and I'm on Wk36. I seemed to have resolved previous CTD issues with bios updates and switching my PSU to single rail. Pins also look ok on my card but do you think it's still worth worrying about and RMAing for a repair sooner rather than later? I suspect...
yeah, the gaming OC has a small OC out of the box. I had tried underclocking but was still getting some issues. It looks a lot more stable now, although can't say exactly what it was. I removed the PCIE riser, flashed my bios and switched the PSU to single at the same time. I'm going to put...
All good on the ryzrn chip drivers and power profile :) It's been good today over multiple Time Spy tests and a few sessions with the boy playing fortnite. I'll keep monitoring it but it does seem to have been one of the 3 you suggested. I'll update the thread if I get any more issues...
Yeah, the riser caused all sorts of problems when I got the card. It just wouldn't post without changing the bios to pcie 3. Definitely using 16x lanes too. Card has actually been stable tonight after the changes, haven't had any C2D yet which is promising. Haven't tested too much but I'm...
Some good points there. BIOS was a few revisions out of of date, just updated that and my PSU was set to Multi. Again, switched that to Single. Finally removed the riser in case that was causing any issues. Going to give this a go and see stable it.
Honestly, if your heart is set on the gigabyte I'd order. The orders are going to take a while to fulfil and by the time you receive you should get the newer connector.
I have a 9 month old Corsair HXi 1200W, it's barely breaking into a sweat. It could be an issue I guess but will be one the last things to check, my old PSU in the loft unfortunately won't cope.
honestly, not sure at the minute. going through each probable cause one at a time. I was selfishly hoping it was the power connector as it's a known issue and fixable.
Drivers are ok, PSU is more than adequate, temps are good. CPU isn't overclocked although memory is. That said, it's ran...
So today, I removed drivers completely and re-installed latest set just to eliminate driver issues.
My boy wanted to to play some fortnite so thought it would be a good time to test any CTD's. 3 in a 1 hour window.
As promised, checked the power connectors afterwards. I'll be honest they...
