I had to pull out the 4 HDDs before windows will boot. I think one of my failing drives was responsible. Is is possible to boot from the SSD if I have th Raid controller disabled by any chance? When i turn off the raid controller I can no longer see the SSD. nor any of the drives in the bays.

I have waited and waited and this is not going anywhere form this screen. There is no prompt behind the cmd window. I have tried this with a new SSD drive same result, Server firmware is up to date.

Thats what I am trying to do now , but need to get windows running first so I can salvage the important stuffs before I disable the raid functionality, getting windows to install without issue is the problem at the moment. Once I can overcome this I ll pretty much start all over.

So now It loaded the OS from the DVD drive and restarted but its currently like this for about 5 minutes now:-

:rolleyes: facepalm. I had 2 cables plugged in and then I forgot there is a separate port for ILO. Meanwhile I broke out my USB dvd drive and burn the server OS to a dual layer disc. Which seems to be installing Okay now. Fingers crossed will update on Install progress. Thanks a lot so far...

Seems am stuck, my ilo IP address is not set correctly, currently 0.0.0.0 .

Of course it is , My Rufus created USb is not recognised by IP.

Exactly the important data that I have are backup elsewhere in multiple locations, I dont want to be going through the hassle of rebuilding if a drive fails hence, If i lose a drive I want to just take it out and put another one in, these are just media files which are of no importance to me.

I totally understand where you are coming from, I ordinarily hate external drives. I had a couple of internal drives fail recently and it was a lot of hassle trying to get the data off them plus the complexity of the raid , I agree its a **** idea no doubt. Do you know how to turn off the raid...

Inteligent provisioning is only looking for ISO it seems, I have the USB stick created with Rufus in the drive it can see it but nothing happens.

I did, I used Rufus to create the USb drive to no luck.
