I was looking at the Gigabyte but it seems plagued with problems. Now I'm looking at the hof but the thought of loud coil whine is not nice. My msi gtx1080ti has it but its not too bad, I can't hear it with headphones on. So much money I hate the thought of it not being right.

I underestimated the heat generated by the 10900k. I now have a dark rock 4 with 2 fans on it and 4x140mm case fans. I also took out a wd black mechanical hard drive as it seemed to be quite hot. With a headset on I can hear the 140mm fans under load. I'm not particularly fond of this tbh...

The two sets of clips that come with it are different sizes, though looking at the heatsink there's no reason for one set to be longer, the smaller ones fit on both sides. Am I doing something stupid or are the clips wrong :confused::rolleyes:

Thats a good idea you have of a steady 5Ghz. Did you disbale turboboost in the bios and then set your multiplier to 50 then it stays like that? My full load freq is now 5.1Ghz, it was 49 before I think. My vcore full load is 1.4ish. Im thinking if i do what you did then losing that 100hz might...
