A car manufacturer you will never buy?

I'd never buy BMW. Just have an irrational dislike of them... Also going off Audi. At the moment I wouldn't entertain anything from JLR either. Even though my last 2.2 XF Sportbrake R Sport, even with ultra low profiles, etc. was the most comfortable ride I've ever driven, the residuals and PCP...

    Technical Query RE: Brakes

I agree, I was just saying that it *could* be perception, rather than anything actually wrong.

My current thinking with cars. Am I being a moron?

Actually Falken DO consider themselves a UHP tyre manufacturer. Falken are simply not targetted at the UK market. Goodyear are expensive here because they are a well recognised brand that has historically been well marketed in this country. Falken are not as well known, and so cannot...

    Technical Query RE: Brakes

It's worth getting them checked, but they may just be "like that". I laughed like a drain at my mate getting out of his Cupra F into my Jag and nearly putting his face through the screen everytime he applied the brakes. Likewise, I often climb into the wifes car, get near a junction, apply the...

My current thinking with cars. Am I being a moron?

By buying Falken you're getting tyres on a par with Goodyear or Dunlop. Falken are in a manufacturing partnership with Goodyear, they have shares in each other and both companies jointly own Dunlop (75% goodyear, 25% Sumitomo (Falken)). Their R&D is shared. They even manufacture under license...

My current thinking with cars. Am I being a moron?

It's not so crazy... at your mileage you have 6 months or so before the 7 hits 100k and the potential for big bills. However, you said it's not really about fuel prices, and I presume that would also cover the occasional expense of parts, so what is this about? I imagine that you are spending...

    New Pagani Huayra official info

Meh.... just another million dollar hypercar chasing big numbers. I dunno, there's something a little jaded about all this. Looks like the front of a Koenigsegg and the back of a Zonda, and with those stalks, will look like Shrek head on. Nothing particularly inspiring, fresh or radical, apart...

What he said... Or if you want something a bit sportier, look at something like this: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2403006.htm Or if you want something a bit roomier, something like this: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2382866.htm

Nissan 350z New Car Review (pictures included)

Meh, totally dependant upon the car. On the Cerbera the Falkens were fantastic. In the summer I never had a moment when I wished for more grip, and even in the winter I never had enough moments to make me consider changing them to anything else. However, on the Jag it's a different matter...

    Ferarri FF - 4WD, 4 Seats.

Or if they couldn't get a ferrari GT, they may buy an Aston, or a Jag or something else, and the Ferrari would become an expensive drain on resources and potentially retired.

    Ferarri FF - 4WD, 4 Seats.

Even though they've been making GT's since 1949, and the bulk of their income is derived from GT sales?

So the test driving begins - TT RS!

I've seen about 29-30mpg on the S-Type R during Mway cruising, so it wouldn't surprise me if the TT-RS could get near the claims.

So the test driving begins - TT RS!

I presume he means that unless you spend a large proportion of your time cruising on the motorway the relevance of the 45mpg figure is limited. If you were buying a car specifcally to cruise around at 60mpg on the M1 all day, you probably wouldn't choose a TT-RS when, if you really had to have a...

HELP Some input needed for lack of pick-up/power

It's called a throttle pot (short for potentiometer) and cost depends on the actual part used. I had a problem with one of the pots in the Cerb and the replacement part was, I dunno, about £25, but pots for the RV8 engined Trevs (chimaera, Griff) are over £100
