    First Non-ISP Router Suggestions?

Hi ladies and gents, Lurker here, been a good while since I posted on these forums, but I've got a request for some advice and figured you guys could help. My technical ability is good, but I've not followed the latest trends in PCs/networking so I'm not sure what the latest and greatest is...

Wireless Remote - 4 Channel Relay? Electricians help please?

Good point, could be that the switch feed isn't providing 0V or 12V, more that it's connecting or disconnecting the ground feed from 0V, which would make more sense given the naming. Perhaps a safer thing to try first would be putting 0V to terminal 2 instead of 12V. If that works, great, if...

Wireless Remote - 4 Channel Relay? Electricians help please?

What is the factory functionality? I'm guessing the switch feed (I'd call that the valve controller output) is normally wired into the ground feed (valve controller input), and then the stock controller decides whether to turn the switch on or off depending on your driving? If that's the case...

    Possible speed ticket?

Agreed, but I still see it happen on a regular basis. The signs on my stretch of the M1 usually turn on around the time I'm passing through them, and everyone panics. Instead of slamming on to hit 60, I'll coast down to it at the next set of signs.

    Possible speed ticket?

Oh pedantry, of course it is, but in my experience there is some leniency granted to avoid ticketing people who don't slam anchor and create dangerous situations. You should slow to meet the speed on the sign before you pass it, but only if it's safe to do so given the speed delta, the distance...

    Possible speed ticket?

Pretty certain you aren't expected to slow down to the stated speed until the next set of cameras. Or at least that's what I've always followed and I've never had a ticket. I have also seen a flash from a similar situation as you, and nothing came of it. I think you'll be fine.

Anyone fitted Eicher brake disks and pads?

Chiming in as I recently had a problem with Eicher pads. Rear pads replaced ~3 months prior to MOT. During the MOT, tester performed a few rolling road emergency stops, and afterwards I had a horrible grinding noise. Amazed it actually passed, as it turns out the material had straight up just...

What have you done to your car today?

Busy week! Prepped my R53 for it's MOT next week, definitely left it a little late but think it'll pass! ABS went pretty much a month after I bought it, first it was speedo dropping, then none at all, then I got an ABS fault, and I've driven it all year in this state. So: Replaced the rear...

    Audi A3 1.9tdi e (sportback)

Anecdotal I know, but I wasn't happy with the reliability (or lack thereof) of my 55 plate A3 2.0 TDI. Bought at 95k miles, excellent service history. I treated her well, long enough journeys to keep a diesel happy, good maintenance etc - 10k miles later, limp mode kept activating, suggesting a...

    DIY car garages

There are some about, I came across one in Sheffield, £10/hr or £50 for the day, and they carry plenty of tools should you need them, and fellas on site for assistance or advice. Can't say I've used it yet, but they have plenty of happy customers on facebook, so will be asking for use of their...

What have you done to your car today?

:D 06 lexus IS250, bought at 100k in jan, it's been maintained well it's just ticked over a few servicing milestones, some that had been skipped, and also for my own peace of mind. Forgot to add changing the drive belt (which, after inspection, really didn't need doing) and silicone-ing the...

    Teleportation

Not really. The two particles are entangled in that yes, if one is measured to be spin-up, then we can deduce that the other is spin-down, however in practice the measurement is probabilistic, so while we can know what the other is, we have no way of "setting" the spin of one photon without...

    ***The Vapers Lounge*** 3.0

Can vouch for the Sony VTC5As, very good batteries, they might not have the 3000mAh capacity but in my experience they actually last longer because they don't drop in voltage as much during use, so they seem to run down further before the low voltage cut-off kicks in. Superb in mechs too. Edit...

100%, one of the best recipes I've ever tried, perfect balance of tart lemon, sweet meringue, and buttery biscuit base. HIC makes amazing recipes, got a lot of respect for that man.

You definitely don't need to blow huge clouds to vape. Tell him to tone it down with a lower power setup. You can also hold it in your lungs for a bit to reduce the amount of vapour. If he complains about "but muh flavour", tell him you don't need to do big lung hits to get flavour, and to do...

Please can you help spec me a new stylish bag for work?

I use one of these. It's sturdy (going on 6 years now of daily use, nothing broken, no tears), and spacious. On a fully loaded day I'll have a 15.6" laptop, bulky charger, mouse (MX revolution, so bulky), a few bottles of e-cig fluid + batteries, a screwdriver kit, pliers, snips, couple reels of...

Ahh I've seen this elsewhere: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP82x6IE6gM At the time I figured it was his dodgy mod, but now you've mentioned it, I dug a bit deeper. Someone in the comments to that video says it's the spitback guard inside the chimney making contact with the positive post...

Another tasty recipe: Mellow Berry Mallow: 2% Bilberry FA 3% Raspberry FA 2.5% Strawberry Shisha INW (or Strawberry FA) 2.5% Marshmallow FA Simple and delicious. I haven't found much use for bilberry since it's a bit too bitter, but the marshmallow really sweetens it up nicely. Could...
