    Upgrade Build Sanity Check

Seems the Shadow Rock Slim has a height of 161mm. I'll check the heights of some others too, thanks. I'm planning on not running any HDDs (except as external for backups), and I like having the OS on its own drive, so I figured I could use the space on the apps/games drive. I'm new to SSDs...

    Upgrade Build Sanity Check

Hi all Finally putting together a major upgrade from my current (prehistoric) build. Hoping for any recommendations and compatibility info that might come to mind. Planning to use my existing GPU for now (a lil' 650ti) and existing power supply (non-modular BeQuiet 500W). But might consider...

    Walking on the Sun

I just laughed my behind off at your post in particular! This thread reminds me of a fantasy about being completely immortal (read: indestructible) and self-sufficient (energy-wise), so as to be able to outlast the destruction/dying-out of one's home planet and solar system. You'd be left...

    Could/Couldn't care less?

Any phrase could be interpreted in almost any way (to have almost any meaning), if one imagines that several additional words follow it... It's a phrase specific to a given thing which one may or may not care about. "Do you care about politics?" "I couldn't care less." If taken literally, and...

    Could/Couldn't care less?

Couldn't. It's used to impart a lack of caring. Could not care less, to care as little as is possible. "Could care less" is redundant in this context, as it doesn't specify either an excess or lack of caring, but merely suggests an amount of caring greater than the minimum.

    London **** WALK

Well I was criticising the apparent principle - "ignore safety and caution because bad people shouldn't exist" - but I'm willing to accept I'm wrong about the actual data in this case. I haven't done any research or even thought about it that much, but if I've already misunderstood their entire...

    London **** WALK

Very well said, my sentiments exactly. It's an awful truth, but that doesn't stop it being one. Idealism is a luxury for those who are currently safe and comfortable. How about a feminist drive towards real empowerment, such as self defense? Meanwhile, convicted rapists -- the one and...

14" analogue crt tv - can't give it away

Dismantle it into as many individual components as possible and learn all about the internals of analogue televisions. Sell the individual components online as "strange object found at Roswell, New Mexico".
