Thanks for the suggestions, trying to decide if I can live without ultra-wide and get a standard larger monitor. Think I may miss the immersiveness though!
I managed to whack my Acer Predator X34P with a desk fan and knackered the screen so need to replace it. Unfortunately I can't afford to straight up replace it like for like so depending on the contents insurance I will have £600 to £800 to spend.
There's so many monitors around at the moment...
I mostly play WoW, Civ or Total War. Those games are all amazing on my X34P I'd never go back. I can understand for FPS gamers though that there's a bit too much to look at
Thanks for the help. I've tried 3 and 4 and 2 doesn't apply as I haven't overclocked the CPU. Hoping it's not the first but not sure how to find out really :(
I got a new system from OCUK around a month ago and have been having intermittent crashing issues when I'm in games. I'm in a game when suddenly the screen artefacts and crashes with windows giving the message:
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" or more...
In the end I got an i7-8700 build with the inno 3d x4 1080ti. I would have liked the ROG Strix but at the time of posting it was out of stock with no solid date for new stock to come in, bad timing on my part!
After a brief foray into a gaming laptop I'm ready to go back to a desktop and this seems to be the one to go for? There was a couple of questions I had though.
The majority of the graphics options seem to be out of stock, is there a card in stock anyone recommends as a replacement for the Asus...
Are there currently any gaming laptops that have these screens fitted? A competitor that allows you to spec your own laptop seems to state they will be available early may on their site but I was wondering if any others are currently available and would they be worth it over the 120hz TN panel...
