Restricted user on Samsung Galaxy, preventing child account from accessing admin account.

Update on this. Only had to set a password on the admin account, sounds very simple, however I found other posts on the internet struggling to solve same issue. Also to stop the child buying Minecraft updates, disable purchases from the play store via the admin account. Now however a new...

They give an indication of output and that's close enough, VU meters are cool regardless :D

Purchased a Yamaha A-S1200 last week. The A-S1200 is Yamaha's entry level into their higher tier amplifiers, it's still running in, however the sound is more warm / smooth, similar to older amps of the past. Considered the A-S2200, however after using for a week i'm very happy and no regrets...

    Multi-room home hi-fi

Shout out for the Wiim Pro. I own the Wiim Pro (not the plus) and feeding it's digital output into Arcam IR DAC with linear PSU. From the Arcam DAC into a Yamaha A-S1200 into Fyne Audio F502 speakers, Wiim Pro is connected via ethernet. Can't fault the sound quality of it's digital output, the...

    Replacement for PC audio setup

It sounds to me, you need some near field speakers or active monitors placed at the sides of your desk.

    Replacement for PC audio setup

Do you use the PC for Zoom / Teams calls or for example watching YouTube? That Yamaha amp you first picked sounds about the correct thing, as it has a USB DAC to connect to PC/Laptop and also I think Music Cast?

    Replacement for PC audio setup

I picked that previous Yamaha amp due to it being discounted so much, it's also smaller to fit on a desk, plus it has piano black sides that cosmetically look very good. But your correct it won't offer anything over the Yamaha amp you picked. Is this new setup a home working / PC desk setup...

    Replacement for PC audio setup

I own a WiiM Plus. I only use it's digital output into an external DAC, that is truly excellent. Not tried it's analogue out (have no need) but apparently the DAC on the WiiM Plus is poor. If you don't have an external DAC then the WiiM Plus Pro is better as it has an uprated DAC.

Do you run your case fans at 100% IF they're near silent? Or is that a bad idea?

I have mine temperature controlled from the motherboard, running silent / slow speed most of the time. Fan speed is also related to case air-flow and fan size, I'm using an older Silverstone FT-02 with 3 x 180mm fans at the bottom, this case does not require high fan speed.

    Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I've owned Nvidia stock since 2019. Regarding generative AI, we are just on the edge of huge growth. Every sector from health care, cyber security, governments, even small companies will be dependent on AI. Nvidia has a moat in their software that other companies such as AMD don't have, I...

    Yamaha floating balanced amplifiers, A-S1200 / A-S2200 / R-N2000a

Got a Yamaha A-S1200 ordered :), would have liked the A-S2200 but just can't justify extra cost. Now I need a new HiFi stand as this Yamaha is to deep to fit on my existing one.

    Yamaha floating balanced amplifiers, A-S1200 / A-S2200 / R-N2000a

Is anyone here running any of the Yamaha floating balanced amplifiers, current line such as A-S1200 / A-S2200 / R-N2000a or previous generation of Yamaha floating amp's. If so what are your thoughts on them? Personally I love the retro look with the VU meters and chunky switches! Apparently...

Nvidia now worth more than Amazon and Alphabet

Nvidia share holder here, I started buying Nvidia since 2019 and never sold a single share and kept buying when the share price dropped. The increase in company value has been good, however I'm not buying any more stock at these prices, but holding everything I already have.

    Commodore Amiga owners thread!

Amiga was a huge jump for home computing, prior to the Amiga I had a BBC micro. One thing with Amiga is they kept pushing the software, near the end there was games like Project X.

    Commodore Amiga owners thread!

I never went to the Ellesmere port one, I only attended the Crewe ones. These were the same, everyone using XCopy! You had your A500 about same time as me. Was your A500 a workbench 1.2 version with the red led power light?
