Yes sometimes there are redemption deals which bring the total cost of the contract below the RRP of the phone but it's not like that kind of deal is always available on every phone. Nice review, I hadn't even realised that they added blck overclocking to haswell, looks like a decent board and a reasonable chip you've got there if it'll do 4.6/4.7. Just a bit of a shame the board doesn't want to do x8/x8, any idea how much performance you can actually get with x16/x4...

Although a 2nd 5850 would give you a cheap performance boost you'd be VRAM limited in a lot of games, if you can afford it you'd be better off going for a 2GB or 3GB single card from one of the newer generations.

The above looks like a decent starting build to me for that kind of budget, however if the budget is a little flexible I'd maybe suggested trying to squeeze an unlocked k chip and a cooler in there in case he decides to go for anything more CPU intensive, gaming or otherwise. The 3GHz 3330 chip...

Even at max overclocks on CPU + GPU the PSU will be fine with a single GTX 670. You could pick a cheaper motherboard, don't have to spend £200 for a decent overclocking board.

The corsair coolers come with decent enough paste, not like the cheapo stuff you get on stock coolers, you might shave 1-2C off your temps by putting your own paste on, just depends if you think it's worth the effort.

They'll price them to whatever they can sell them at, and with the minor performance difference between this and the new card they'll sell at this price.
