Hi all,

I have at the moment a little Sony Handycam which is 5.0mp. Has been pretty decent for taking pictures, but my birthday is comming up and I was thinking about an upgrade.

Budget will be about £250, which is not loads, I know, but im not massivley into photography so dont want to spend tons on something that wont be used very often.

Main thing that I find irratating about the little handcams is that you cant really zoom. I mean it does have about 2x optical but tbh it might as well not have a zoom at all. So a bigger camera with an actual zoom lens would be brill.

Type of pictures I take are of cars, mostly stationary but sometimes moving too.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

I just got a Fuji S9600 - 9MP with 10x zoom. Can be had for £225.

Or there's the cheaper (about £150) S6500, which lacks some of the features of the S9600 (hotshoe, CF slot, movable LCD, command dial) but is still a very good camera and still has 10x zoom.

If you know where to look Fuji S5600 can be had for under £90 refurbed. 5 mega pixels, 10x optical zoom etc. even has raw mode!

Took this pic with my S9600 when I was on holiday in Turkey last week...

It's my first bridge camera, but I'm in awe of the quality of photos I've been getting despite my very limited knowledge of photography.

I've just got an S5800; an amazing step up from my Samsung S500, and still figuring out how to use it:
